"I was supposed to stay here for 9 nights, but I left first thing in the morning after the first night and went to a hotel. The beds were actually air mattresses with one small blanket, and there were no lockers or anywhere to put your belongings except in the room, where they got in the way of others or could be stolen. Between people screaming their heads off in the middle of the night and pushing others, the broken shower, and the disgusting toilets, I would recommend sleeping on the street...

"This Hostal Gala is a perfect stay to visit and walk around the center of Madrid, close to everything! Since it is a hostal, don't expect to find conditions like in a hotel. "Spotlessy clean room in a good location at an affordable price. Right next to bus and metro stations and heaps of dining options close by. Hostel staff were great, from check in to cleaning to accomodating a late check out. Noise from other rooms is easily heard so bring the ear plugs to ensure a good nights sleep."

"The accommodations are simple but clean. Excellent location very near very good restaurants, and a metro station is barely a 5 minute walk from the nearest metro station (Tribunal). The only drawback is that one must walk up a couple flights of steps to enter the property which can be rough with lots of luggage."

"This was by far the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The posting is very misleading as the hostel doesn’t look anything like the photos provided. There is no signage or indication of the hostel from the street. You have to knock on a door and you’re let into what looks like someone’s personal kitchen. "The pre-visit check-in procedure is rather arduous and means to contact the owners not easy. I requested the option of 2 single beds but that didn't happen. That being said when we did receive the check in details it was very easy from there on. The apartment is nice and super well situated. We were disappointed that there is absolutely no basic necessities in terms of beverages, including water, on arrival and in some ways the apartment could benefit from some maintenance and thought, e.g....
