"Have stayed in 4 hotels and B&B’s in Eastbourne and this is by far and away the best one I’ve stayed in. Victorian features, stain glass windows combined with a modern style. Breakfast choices were eggcelent with proper sausages and bacon, the “house” scrambled eggs was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was a bonus as that area of Eastbourne can be tricky to find spaces to park at night. Would definitely stay at The New England again."

The Burlington Hotel

"The hotel is in need of decoration, especially the bedrooms. The bedroom windows would not open. Both lifts were broken and people, many with walking sticks and walkers had to climb many stairs to reach their rooms. The reception staff were excellent having to deal with many complaints most of the day."

"Had a lovely bank holiday weekend at this hotel . we were upgraded to rooms over looking the beach - which was amazing . the hotel is situated opposite the beach, in between the pier and bandstand - so perfect location . Theres no parking but if you pay £2.50 to the hotel you get a permit for 24 hours and we were lucky enough to park across the road . Staff were wonderful - very friendly and helpful they had a man playing piano in the evenings which was lovely and he was very knowledgable on all types of pianists which he made very interesting We were able to listen and watch the tribute acts that were on at the bandstand Wouldnt hesitate to return !"

"Location is amazing. Property was clean just one advise to staff they should really allow guest to keep luggage and not upset them over they don't have space etc. as over all experience was really really good just on last min when checking out I had to really convince staff to keep my bags."

"Really amazing hotel, much better than I expected Rooms are very big, high ceiling and right in front of the sea for an amazing sea view . Highly recommended and will use this again. Big thanks to Mark for welcoming us despite us coming very late and the receptionists were super too! (Didn't catch either name) Rooms are clean and all staff are very helpful and great Keep up the amazing hospitality!"

"Very glad to book and stay at the Port hotel. Compared to the others in the area it was the only modern boutique style hotel which matches my personal taste. Improvements: more info on arrival wifi, breakfast times,maybe menu with prices. Is the bar open for drinks in evening etc. Local area, getting around etc. each floor level needs numbers and better signage overall. Cork might be great for winter but a little loud and sound proofing is needed(hear conversation outside door as clear as day). Todays climate AC is essential especially as windows limited. Didn’t want insects. Privacy screen on windows facing houses essential. Rooms compact but modern and neat which made stay much nicer! Hotels.com please provide hotel info after booking as I could only access the receipt. Nothing else provided - address telephone or room / amenities I booked etc."

"Room needs a deep clean. Dirty water drip marks on door to bathroom and also some dried brown streeks. Wardrobe had dead inserts on the shelf and base. Towel was worn around the edges, wearing thin and small holes not what I expect from a hotel. No housekeeping unless you paid extra. So had to use the same towel of 5 days. Toiletaries supplied for day 1. The windows were filthy, did not look like they had been cleaned for a year. Externally, the hotel needs significant maintenance. Wifi hardly worked. The room I stayed in was not in the 21 photos on Expedia. One positive, the bed was clean and comfortable and the hotel location on seafront close to pier, shops. 2nd worst hotel I've stayed in anywhere in the country in 35 years. Will not stay again and would not recommend."
