Poppy`s Cottage is a sweet hillside sanctuary overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Channel Islands. Lovingly maintained gardens, comfortable furnishings, this stand alone cottage has stunning ocean views.

Open the French doors for spacious indoor/outdoor living, watch the sunrise in the east and set in the west. The intimate space is perfect for two and if you travel with your pets, dogs are welcome the yard is completely fenced. When the gardens are in bloom the yard is teaming with birds, butterflies, and sweet smelling blossoms.

Fall in love with Summerland and enjoy the magic it has to offer. Walk to beach, shops, restaurants, bar, parks, and miles of mountain hiking trails right from the front door. It`s a quiet town and wonderful to explore on foot with your evening beverage or use hills to workout in the cool mornings.

Summerland is an ideal location to stay and explore the best the Central Coast has to offer. Montecito to the north and Carpinteria south are a ten minute drive. Santa Barbara fifteen minutes away. In our coastal zone there is no end of urban adventuring and nature to experience. The Santa Ynez Valley wine country is 45 to the north and Ojai is 30 minutes east. There is so much to do here and we are happy to share our favorite outings!

Highway 101 and the train run along the ocean, four blocks down from the cottage. With the unobstructed ocean view, you will hear sounds from both. Please consider your sensitivity to urban sounds if you are interested in Summerland. Poppy`s Cottage comes equipped with WiFi, a hair dryer, propane BBQ, a washing machine, dryer, and heating. Poppy`s Cottage is a stand alone home with a fully fenced yard and a private entrance from the parking area. Guests are welcome to the cottage area and two parking places directly out front. There is a dedicated washer and dryer outside the back door.

There are gardens in the front and the back of the cottage. If the passion fruit vine out the back door is producing fruit and they are ripe, you are welcome to harvest what you can reach. There is often other seasonal produce available for you to enjoy.

Please do not burn candles, incense or anything else with an open flame.

We are butterfly lovers and late summer through the fall there may be monarch butterfly caterpillars making their chrysalis around the deck and front garden. I label them as I see them but please be careful of monarchs in the making!
This is a family home that`s been treated with love and respect for many, many years :) Please be kind to it and treat it as your own during your stay with us. Also, quiet hours begin at 9pm. Our neighbors kindly allow us to vacation rental our home, so please be mindful of this as well. Thank you!
