"The room was really clean, a bit small but really nice. Parking was easy, within a few minutes walk from hotel. Kim was lovely, she made us feel really welcome. Its a shame that they dont do breakfast anymore but we took cereal and also went to wetherspoon which was just down the road.
We had a fabulous 3 days."
"Really relaxed vibe and Jack was a great host. The ‘help yourself’ breakfast was a great idea and the little things like, have a bottle of water out of the fridge, went a long way.
Room was clean, light and airy. Had everything you could possibly want eg posh coffee maker etc, bottles of water/fizzy drink.
Jack made some lovely recommendations for places to see/eat/visit and we can highly recommend The Plough Inn and Jorvine too!

"This is an edge of town pub. Main use for the local population but has a few rooms that make it ideal location for the Barbican theatre. It's not 4/5 star so the people who complain about a hair on the tolet floor, those fools need not go."
"We received a lovely welcome. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, and beautifully decorated too. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again."
"The guest house was located in a super position, close to the station and city. The walk to the city via the footpath alongside the river was lovely. The hot drinks tray and refrigerator in the room were a useful idea and well used. The bed was comfortable and we got a good nights sleep even though the station was close by.
Martyn was great and a good source of information. There were lots of great eating places nearby. We would definitely go back should we visit York again."
"Didn’t even end up staying here as after I booked and rang them to find the exact location of the hotel, they told me they didn’t have space and re-directed me a 20 minute walk to another property that was not acceptable at all. When I asked to be refunded or have my booking cancelled, they told me it wasn’t something they could do as Hotels.com needed to do.
