The hotel is situated in the country, near tall trees and grape vines, convenient to hiking in that part of Madeira. The views were lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly. For the 3 of us, the room was a bit crowded, but okay.

My husband and I stayed four nights and had a very positive experience. The staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in early. The hotel has a low density in terms of number of rooms and a relaxing atmosphere was prevalent. The breakfast buffet (included in price) was excellent and provided a good variety of good quality choices. The pool, while outdoors, was heated sufficiently to allow a swim even when the temperature was on the chilly side. The room was clean...

Pestana properties are our 'go to' properties when travelling in Europe. The staff are always super friendly & helpful. Churchill Bay is a lovely authentic fishing village. The hotel has a lovely roof top restaurant. The food was fresh & very well prepared. We stayed 4 nights & dined at the hotel every night. There are many other options but we enjoyed the convenience & birds eye view of the bay's activies at the sunset.

The hotel is definitely a five star . Love the bathrobes and the slippers to be able to go to the spa . Luxurious pool towels were provided. And special call out for Andrea, Mikaela and Sophia at the front desk, and Catarina in the restaurant. We prearranged a number of excursions and they helped us with all the arrangements. Great...
