Walk to the Pier. Walk to fine restaurants. Hike the hills. If the beach is too cold try the brand new Vista Hermosa Aquatic Park or the historic Ole Hanson pool. Experience the entire So Cal beach experience from Casa Mariposa. Our 2 bedroom two bath classic beach cottage is perfect for exploring the beautiful surroundings or just hanging out. After a full day of activity come home to relax and unwind. Fire up the charcoal BBQ or people watch from the front garden. Stay in for a quiet night in front of the fire place watching your favorite shows and movies with the family on a 42 inch 1080P LCD ROKU Streaming TV. Who says you can't have it all?

Although the home is close to the Pier bowl, being just outside this area gives one more room, privacy and quiet than in other parts of San Clemente.

The home is well appointed with a modern updated kitchen, bathrooms and high speed wifi access for all your devices. Free live TV, 2 big screen LCD TV's, TV high speed internet access for live streaming You Tube TV, NetFlix, Hulu and other popular websites . Little Blue Cottage

We really enjoyed our 4 nights in San Clemente. We enjoyed a daily walk to the beach with our dogs, and we loved checking out the different restaurants in town. The backyard was nice and private, and the neighborhood was also quiet. We would stay here again …

Awesome So Cal Stay!

Lovely home to stay in for a long weekend. House had everything needed and then some. Plenty of room to settle in and make your own. Easy guide to follow for all the homes features. Will definitely look to be back again soon!

Home away from home

The cottage was charming, clean, fully equipped and perfectly located. We really felt like this was our home away from home. It is close to the beach and Del Mar, which is where you find the cafes and shops. The owner was helpful, the neighborhood quiet, and one neighbor was quick to help out when we discovered flat tires on our bikes. There is also a bike path right by the house that takes you safely down the coast all the way to Dana Point. We had a splendid time!

Home away from Home walking distance to beach and town

Ideally located on quiet street within walking distance of Del Mar with wonderful restaurants and bars. Free Trolley stop at top of the street. Walking distance to pier and Amtrak train station. Very well equipped 2 bedroom bungalow with driveway. Table and seating in quiet backyard. Two good size TV’s with Roku. Comfortable living room seating with good natural light. Good size kitchen and eating area. We really enjoyed our month stay and hope to return. Communication with owner was excellent. Would highly recommend!

Comfortable stay

Cute comfortable cottage, kitchen well stocked, some updated appliances (nice new dishwasher). Good water pressure in the shower once hot water gets there. Enjoyable fireplace once I figured out how to use it. Water heater makes a lot of noise every time hot water is used and sometimes when no water was used. Den is through the second bedroom - this was a surprise.

Cute and cosy

We finally made it to the property 2 years after we had originally booked to arrive but due to Covid, it was delayed. Throughout that time, Ed was incredibly understanding. Casa Mariposa did not disappoint! It's a lovely place to stay - nice quiet neighbourhood within walking distance of the beach, pier, shops and restaurants. The kitchen was well equipped when we ate in, comfortable furniture and comfortable beds. We had a great stay and would stay again, hopefully soon.

Casa Mariposa

I enjoyed my stay at Casa Mariposa. I liked the neighborhood. The hose was spacious and the kitchen well equipped. I had three issues with the house. For most people these would probably not be a big. deal. I was told when I rented the place , last year, that it had cable. TV. It did not. Smart TV is only as good as the stations you have on your system at home. There was no gas grill in the backyard. I didn’t feel like heating charcoal every time I wanted a hamburger. After all I spent 5 weeks at the property. The ice maker was not even connected and there were only two ice trays in the freezer. When I asked the owner about this he didn’t know the status of the ice maker and said whatever is there will have to do. I bought my own ice trays and used a portable grill I had in my van. It is possible the place may have a termite problem. Not sure.

Creepy unsafe vibe

Run down cottage with one broken toilet. Patio furniture was rusty and dirty. Covered in bird poop and spider webs. Back door had wood rot and lock was flimsy. Anyone could easily break-in with little effort. Big rodents fight on the roof nightly from 3am-5am. Back room toilet was clogged and brown at arrival. We didn’t use it. Outdoor space was unswept and dirty. Ok for a small dog though side gate has wood rot and no latch or closure. Place had a creepy unsafe vibe. Property is not well cared for. Needs at least a window air-conditioner during hot weather.

California vacation

We really enjoyed this lovely home. We had enough space for our 3 kids ages 2, 9 and 12. The reading nook area had a separate door and we made that a small room for our 2 year old. It was close to CVS and shops in Del Mar. easy walk to the beach. We enjoyed our stay

Lovely cottage with great indoor and outdoor spaces

A wonderful home away from home, beautifully decorated and well maintained with a great layout and nice seating areas in front and back yards. San Clemente is a gem by the ocean, this home is conviently located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to stores and restaurants. Highly recommended!

Great Location

We had a wonderful time. The place was well thought out and plenty of space for 4 adults and a dog. We had 3 cars and was able to use the garage and driveway with no issues. The house was clean, kitchen had everything one would need and a great outdoor shower with a surprise-warm water. Excellent location. Walk to beach and restaurants. Thank you for sharing

Great place to stay in town!

This house was the perfect find! It is close to the beach, restaurants and several stores! It has a super cute backyard that was perfect for relaxing in the evenings! The owner responded very quickly when I had a question! I would stay here again!

Perfect all around

The location of this home is perfect there’s a CVS that’s about five houses down third shops dining all within walking distance the only bad thing was the beach was a little bit further than we expected and it is a downhill and uphill walk but other than that I will be staying at this location again in the future thank you guys the host was amazing the location was amazing the house was perfect thank you perfect thank you

Visit to San Clemente

Ed's property is in a quiet neighborhood and walking distance to everything in San Clemente. We had several plumbing repairs done during our stay but Ed was very accommodating. The home is well stocked with everything you need and the back patio was a nice space. Overall, we enjoyed Ed's place and hope to visit again someday.
