"A lovely hotel, great food and a fantastic breakfast. A full English that left us feeling full!
The Daily Menu mentioned "Crispy Doreen's Black Pudding" on the Grazing Meat Board. We didn't find out who Crispy Doreen is, but her Black Pudding was great!
The steaks are pricey, but the rest of the menu seems reasonably priced, and the food quality was excellent.
The "Wagyu" room was a good size, and well decorated with a nice deer theme. Nice overhead type shower, easy to adjust, and once...
"The location was perfect, staff friendly helpful and kind warning about the football. We were a little worried but was actually ok, only a little noise when England scored which we cant complain at. Loved our stay, cute locatipn and our evening meal was exactly what we needed."
"It’s okay hotel if you don’t expect welcoming from them. It was hot in our room even they provided a little fan and oscillating fans but it was hot day. The shower is too hot to handle and so is the tap."
"Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location in the middle of the North York Moors National Park. The room was very clean, the linen of high quality and the bed was very comfortable. All the amenities worked. The rooms are above the pub so there was some chatter and music. This wasn’t a problem for me. The breakfast was delicious.
I would stay here again.

"The guest house was located in a super position, close to the station and city. The walk to the city via the footpath alongside the river was lovely. The hot drinks tray and refrigerator in the room were a useful idea and well used. The bed was comfortable and we got a good nights sleep even though the station was close by.
Martyn was great and a good source of information. There were lots of great eating places nearby. We would definitely go back should we visit York again."
