Hotel Mundo Maya Nuevo Uxmal

"I have found my favourite vacation spot in the yucatan! Staying at the Mundo Maya Uxmal hotel was a 10/10 experience for us. We originally booked two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My husband and I both thought it was just going to regular 4 star hotel near the popular Uxmal ruins in the nearby town. Oh was I so wrong! This hotel is situated in the bio reserve area in the Nuevo Uxmal park. The grounds were beautiful and immaculatly maintained by their dedicated staff"

"Beautiful property with a kind and friendly staff. I stayed at the Lodge several times over the last ten years and my experience has always been very good. For those of you who love nature and appreciate tranquility there is no substitute, start your day with their delicious breakfast and simply walk to the breathtaking ruins of Uxmal for an intimate encounter with the mysterious world of the Maya :))"

"Great breakfast to start the day. Jose is a great server and made the best limon margaritas we had on the trip. Restaurant menu was excellent balance of food we knew and with a Mayan twist. Owner Amy Jo was welcoming and on site to offer suggestions and support for the area. Thank you"

Hacienda Santa Rosa de Lima

"The staff and service is exceptional, from a cold towelette and welcome drink on arrival to setting a small bonfire in front of our evening dining table for ambience. This was our second stay. The converted old hacienda is a delight. It is small and tranquil, located in a rather remote area in a small pueblo which is safe but doesn't have any activities. There are all two pools, a garden with a demonstration of Mayan indigenous medicinals and herbs (if you are lucky to be there at the right time), a spa (which I haven't used), a wonderful restaurant (dining on the veranda), and a library with books and games located in the 1909 administration building of the hacienda (which looks like a church). Exceptionally clean and staff is so attentive that the bottled water we had consumed upon arrival at 4pm was replaced by 6 pm while we were strolling the grounds. Rooms are comfortable and serene, but not lavishly appointed or modern, keeping with the atmosphere of the hacienda. Mattresses and pillows are very comfortable and with crisp, high-end sheets. Rooms have good A/C. We had a hiccup with our hot water and the management quickly attended to it. Can't wait to return to this special place."
