"Massively overpriced accommodation. It is clean and conveniently located, but staff only seems to be interested in running the downstairs pub/restaurant and you are pretty much on your own from the start to finish if you ever have any issues. I had a room with a balcony, but the balcony was somewhat disappointing. The television is so small that you are lucky even to notice it on the opposite wall."

"The room, although small was very comfortable with a feeling of space provided by the view. Dinner was very good and the breakfast options were great. Staff were very natural and friendly. Parking is provided at the back of the property in a quiet free public car park, with access to the hotel just a few steps away. I would definitely stay here again when next in the area, with no hesitation."

"Staff were brilliant I have had breakfast before and fantastic plenty to eat Bar. And outside area great lots of room Sad to say it all needs updating up stairs. All bathrooms need updating and decor and carpets need gone. Definitely the WiFi needs sorting out so you can get on it when you are in your room I wanted to chill out and watch Netflix but no internet Apart from that always a lovely stay and they accept dogs which is fab"

"If you value the suspension in your car then avoid the long potholed drive up to this property! On arrival it transpired the lift was not working and no-one appeared the whole weekend to investigate or repair. No idea how long it had been broken. No apology was given when we arrived. We were simply directed to the staircase to get to our room on the 2nd floor!. No idea when the skirting boards in the room was last cleaned. The shower in the room was scalding hot one minute and freezing cold...

"The meals were excellent both for quality and price, staff very helpful. The bed was comfortable however the windows did not close entirely. It was quite warm so not a major problem for us but the windows needed refurbishment so they be opened or closed easily. The electric shower was very weak. These issues were relatively minor given the pluses of staff, food and comfortable beds"

"The owners have thought of everything and more! The kitchen was beautifully fitted and kitted out, the bed we used was very comfortable, and the towels luxurious. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus. I had a question when we arrived, and the owner responded immediately. Our new favorite place!"

"Great base for the northumberland coast,we visited bamburgh which has lots of history,we can recommend the grace darling museum and the church .Also Alnwick has a fantastic castle,( harry potter was filmed there.) The Amble inn had a great atmosphere we were lucky,band played on the friday we arrived .they played great music.And the meal we booked was lovely.well done to all the staff we were made very welcome and nothing was to much trouble. Plenty of free parking aswell."

"Read reviews after booking this last minute - wanted to cancel as they were so poor but couldn't without losing what we'd paid. Went with low expectations but were pleasantly surprised. The room wasn't sparkling but it was clean enough. Bed linen and towels were clean. Cups less so. No teaspoon in room or sockets for the kettle. We managed. Staff largely absent and both check in and out were peculiar experiences but when we did interact with staff they were friendly enough. Spooky reviews...
