"I enjoyed my stay here. The property is nice and the breakfast is good, etc. But there was one thing that really disappointed me. I booked a nonrefundable rate back in January for a summer trip since it was a lot cheaper than refundable. But a few weeks ago, I checked on Expedia and I was surprised to see that the rates had dropped a lot. For the same 2 nights as my stay, a refundable rate was about $54 less than what I paid. So I called Expedia and asked if I could get this better rate. After all, I wasn’t canceling the trip nor was I asking to stay at a different property…I was still staying at Homewood. So Expedia phoned Homewood and explained the situation and Homewood said that they won’t let me change it. Expedia even told me they were very surprised since every hotel they ask does this type of change without a problem. So I messaged Homewood myself and said, “Ok…if I can’t get a refund…can I at least get a room upgrade like say a balcony?” After all, the balcony rooms at this point were selling for LESS than what I paid! And Homewood said “no” to that, too! Honestly, please tell me what you would have lost out on of if I had a balcony? As they say, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” I won’t be fooled again, rest assured on that."
