"The place was clean and the staff were friendly at check-in and check-out.
The reception area is cosy and nicely done with board games, books and a fireplace.
We had booked and paid for an Alpine view room, but were given a room at the end of the hallway with only a partial view of the mountains - and only if you stepped onto the balcony and looked to your left. The view from inside the room was definitely not "Alpine view," just trees.
Housekeeping also left some dirty dishes behind and...

"Breakfast was among the best we’ve ever had. The staff paid attention to every detail. Eco friendly touches did not detract from comfort and convenience.
Glenorchy was peaceful and quiet and a perfect antidote to ski days in Queenstown. One of my favorite spots was the covered outdoor fireplace savoring a hot chocolate or a whiskey on a freezing night. I live a long way from New Zealand, but hope to return at some point."
