"The location and staff were excellent. Property is older and a bit tired looking but the excellent customer service made up for what it lacked in amenities."

"Location is a 15 minute walk to the city center and maybe 15 minutes to the airport. Nothing really stood out in the immediate area worth walking to and the hotel does not have on site parking which I didn't like. Upon arriving to the hotel the room wasn't ready even though it was already an hour after check-in time. I waited a while but staff made it right by offering free drinks on the marvelous rooftop. Harris that attended us on the rooftop was awesome! The room I chose was the suite which was generously sized for Florence standards and it had its own couch area apart from bed. The tissue paper offered is almost a newspaper rolled into bath paper, its horrible. Also, the hotel doesn't offer an iron or steamer, you have to go downstairs to their laundry area and use one of three available irons that are chained to the wall. I hated this aspect of it. It felt as a college dorm instead of a hotel. There's only two small elevators to use and the primary one gets shut down only providing rooftop access after 6pm so you do find yourself using the stairs more often than not. Downstairs they do have a coffee bar which was nice. I didn't try their breakfast. Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here again but for the price its good and the rooftop is amazing and not crowded. Their gym has all the equipment you need and a nice view of the city. "

"Chose this hotel after our flight was canceled. Staff was extremely welcoming. Rooms were clean,neat and well appointed. No frills but everything was very clean. Coffee/bakery area had an amazing breakfast selection. We didn’t have the buffet but looked thru the room and it looked very nice as well."

"The property is beautiful, but not even close to half the size of what it looks in pictures and very different. There’s actually nothing much to do except wine tour considering it’s very far from Florence and the cabs are very expensive to go and back. We had to wait more than an hour to get a drink and chips in restaurant as there was nobody there between lunch and dinner hour. So if you get late for lunch, there’s nothing to eat until dinner hours except coffee. It would have been nice for place to have at least some sandwiches or snack to grab between meal hours, considering there are not any restaurants nearby. The place can be a good idea if only you want some quiet time away from city. I do not recommend it if you have children or want to do activities!"

"We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, comfortable place to stay. The staff we had the pleasure of learning from, Irene and Ivana, made our trip. We loved the wine and olive oil tasting and the cooking class."

"This property was magical. We booked it as a post-wedding place for our extended family. We had 9 adults and 3 children. There was something for everyone! The heated pool was pristine. It was relaxing soaking up the Tuscan sun, the gentle breeze and the breathtaking view of the vineyards in the the distance. The beds were hotel quality, the towels plush and plentiful. Each room was perfectly clean and comfortable. Plenty of closet space and private baths in every room.We asked for dinner in the villa both nights and it was terrific. The first night was a Tuscan dinner with homemade pasta! The second night we had a pizza chef give a class using their centuries-old pizza oven. Everyone loved it and it was DELICIOUS!They even arranged for massages in the front garden for the bride and groom. After a long week of activity, it was much needed and appreciated.The ability to make our own coffee each morning was nice. The kitchen had everything. We had a full breakfast one morning and pastries and fruit the next. Everyone found something they loved. So yummy!Our hosts (Cate and her family) were responsive, friendly and soooo helpful. They even showed up with gifts for the kids as well as water-wings for the pool. They were exceptional.We arrived as guests, we left as friends. We will be back!"

"Excellent hotel, well appointed rooms. Very courteous and helpful staff! This hotel is away from city centre. The hotel does offer free shuttle service to the nearest tram station through the day. The trams run every 10 minutes to city center. The hotel has a good fitness ce ter, breakfast buffet and hot spa pool! Giovanni and Samuel the chauffeurs for the shuttle were extremely pleasant and hospitable! All in all - a good stay! "

"We loved Castello di Montegufoni. We felt like royalty in our large rooms. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. The bathroom was small but adequate. I plan to go again. This is a great place to stay as a base when visiting Tuscany. "

"Francesca and Thomas went out of their way to make us feel welcome! Even called for dinner delivery at a local restaurant on Monday evening. The restaurant is closed on Monday but the delivery was delicious! Dinner on our patio was a treasure! The food at the restaurant was so delicious, authentic Italian at its best!! Lots of choices for each course! Wait staff were so warm and friendly! The bar was great as well with lots of offerings at great prices! The grounds are immaculate and truly stunning. Our apartment was so cozy and cute and our view was unbelievably beautiful! The pool was refreshing and sparkling clean. The breakfast was really good but each morning the eggs and bacon were served cold even though they were in a chafing dish, just no heat source, really only improvement needed though. We did not have a car during our stay so we did not venture out but we really enjoyed our relaxing stay! Taxi service to/from Florence is easily achieved. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!"
