"Customer service was poor. Staff seemed bothered to help guest. Market staff was rude. If you want to hold bags after check out there is a $4 fee cash, the staff demands cash even after telling them you don’t have any. Bathroom was dirty; hair in the bathtub, dusty surfaces and toilet was dirty."

"The reason I selected this hotel was because it is next door to the Met. I will perhaps use the hotel again for that reason, despite my experience. I arrived at the hotel around 9, knowing that check in was at 3pm. I just wanted to check my bag and go tour the city, since I had never been to New York before. Normally when you arrive at the front desk you are greeted and welcomed, that didn't happen. When I asked about things to see in the area they were somewhat hesitant, I asked the dooman on my way out, and got the same response. When I returned from the opera the evening staff were so extremely nice and helpful. They are part of why I would come back to the hotel. The condition of the room was not what I expected, wall paper peeling, ceiling had water damage, the AC unit had rust, and the toilet kept making sounds. I have pictures if you want to see them. Despite some of the conditions the hotel has great charm, especially the lobby.The roof top restaurant and the Mexican restaurant were wonderful. I hope this helps to make future visits for others and myself better."

"I have stayed at many hotels in Atlantic City but never ever have I thought of the Golden Nugget because it was always said it was the senior hotel and nothing spectacular and very outdated but when I saw that it was upgraded and that the price was really good for the one night that I stayed. I was impressed when I arrived by the friendly staff the helpfulness the only thing that I had an issue with was check in policy. I have travel all over the US and international 5 star hotels and resorts and never had an issue with using my official US passport as an ID that needs to be revamped because what happens if you get international guest that might only have their passport and doesn’t have a license from their home countries. Same rule should apply to all domestic and international guests. That’s the only issue that I had ans I will be returning to AC in a few weeks but if this is going to be an issue than I will go to my go to hotel the Ocean but I would prefer the Golden Nugget for now."

Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel

6/10 Okay

"Very clean and well maintained, as is usually the case at a Sheraton. However, the staff, particularly those men standing around in the lobby, didn’t seem to know much about what was available when nor were they able to answer simple questions we asked. The fee that was charged allowed us $35 to spend. However, what was available was meager. Two drinks exceeded that amount. The location of this hotel however is terrific."
