The hotel was difficult to find as it’s a small door at the end of a building block. There is no parking, you need to use any of the city lots at £14 a week. Room was quiet and clean. Haystacks is an excellent cafe downstairs.

Really easy check in and good correspondence prior to arrival. The room was very comfortable, bed especially so. Right in the centre of town, easy access to everything needed. Small bathroom and shower but perfectly adequate. Only addition that I would recommend is small fridge in the room.

This is a self service hotel, no staff around, but it works. Rooms were clean, decent size and decent shower. If everything works well then it works great. If you have a problem then it might not be as convenient. Only down score would be the room smelt quite bad. If you are staying for 1 night I would recommend it, though.

Worth going back to Merthyr, just to stay here!

Probably the nicest, best decorated and beautiful room I have stayed in (and I travel for work a lot). Very comfortable, excellent price. Close to the railways station and local restaurants.

Incredible decor, there isn’t one small detail which Howfield Hotel has missed! Amazed by the thought of the little touches to the decor. Very pretty rooms. Very clean and easy to get to from the public car park. Great restaurant choices around the hotel too. Highly recommended.

Brilliant

Howfield is a personal favourite of ours, it's such a nice, clean place with great value for money. The restaurant next-door is also a great plus, never had any issues from the current construction happening to the buildings next-door either!

The rooms at the Howfield were exactly as described in the photos. very comfortable bed, good hot shower with good flow and very clean. the housekeeping staff were polite, cheerful and helpful. communication and check in was completed efficiently via text messages with quick responses ( we asked for an early check in and the room was ready for us ) I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again

The shower area was great. The room was comfortable. All nicely done. The area it was in is up and coming. There is no elevator, so if you are in rooms 5,6,7 or 8 plan on going up 2 and 3 flights of stairs. Parking is close by.

Good location for us. Very comfortable brilliant shower. The night storage heating kept me up until I realised the noise was coming from there then turned it off. ( not needed room was very hot) would definitely stay again

Nice room for a night in Merthyr

Had low expectations but was a great small room in what happens to be a new hotel development above shops on the highstreet. Booked a room labled double / twin but could only book dbl version but its great that they contact you before the stay to ask if you want it made up as a dbl or twin.
