"We like this hotel as the location is ideal for both the town centre and the Barbican with its choice of bars and restaurants. "The room was quite well proportioned and despite being over the public bar was not noisy. Was close to the bus stop which saved us driving into Brighton and trying to find a park. Meals were good and breakfast very generous. Overall good value for money"

"Needlessly complicated check in process - why did I have to supply my ID? There is no UK legal requirement for this and most places don't do it. The booking app has my details if anything goes wrong. My room (6) was in a dark lower basement, not listed as such. I asked for upstairs room which was available but it did not have a cooking stove.
