"So I must say I was alittle disappointed by the hotel. I thought from the reviews I read it was going to be way more upscale. My check in was smooth and easy I did an early check in due to my early arrival which was okay. The lobby looked decent , however the Dunkin’ Donuts inside was so cleanly, didn’t smell so good and had locals hanging out in the seating area trying to flirt with me. When I reached my room, there was a big laundry cart in it I had to push out into the hallway. The room was accessible for a persons with a wheelchair which is good but since I am not in a wheelchair I had to pull the chair out of the shower. There was no shower door so I had to put a bunch of towels down to stop the water from flooding across the floor. The bathroom however was clean and decent , I did however clean it again to my satisfaction. The room itself was okay , it had a mini refrigerator that looked like someone took a knife and or key and keyed it all over differently a turn off. I kept smelling marijuana and cigarette smoke through the vents which was a negative for me being as though I don’t smoke , thank god I bought room spray I had to keep spraying it throughout my time there. The room was cold it wasn’t till day 2 going into 3 did I learn how to turn off the power and get the heat going . As for the casino I could barely stomach to stay in there long enough with all the cigarette smoke that was going on. The restaurants in the hotels were blah. I ate across the street "

"Our 3-night stay at El Moore was wonderful. The Lodge is located in a historic neighborhood in Detroit, just a short walk from some nice restaurants and shops, and also walking distance from the beautiful main library and several museums. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable, and each morning we had a continental breakfast in the charming dining area downstairs. The staff members were warm and welcoming. (A special shout-out to Ms. K, who graciously and patiently took the time to untangle my necklace so I could wear it to an evening event. ) We can’t wait to come back."

"Upon arrival, it was evident upon arrival that the place had not been cleaned--debris & hairballs on the floors and in the nightstand drawers, thick dust on the baseboards, bedroom blinds don't fully close, 2 worn-out bath towels for a booking for 4 adults, car with broken windows in the parking area. Shared pics with host and they say "I see there are a few spots that could have been cleaned better..." Host offered to send a cleaning crew back out, but after a full day of travel, we didn't want to be bothered with other people coming in the space or leaving while they cleaned, so we booked other accommodations. It should have been cleaned BEFORE our arrival, not cleaning around us after we complain about it. Host told me to reach out to VRBO regarding refund, which I did, and then host DENIED the refund! Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else! "
