"Location was incredible, lovely room and grounds"

"Great staff, friendly and attentive. Amazing food, real ale, extensive wine list. Reminiscent of how hotels used to be before corporate takeovers"

"There is a lot that is exceptionally good about the hotel. The staff are extremely helpful , the food and drinks of high standard and the spa area very good. The only slight downsides were poor WiFi although this seems to affect the whole village when we visited. We’d love to come back."

"Couldn't fault our stay."

"Fabulous stay for 2 nights, great staff, great food, breakfast and dinner, very comfortable bed."

"Friendly staff, good location. Very quiet hotel. We didn't hear anything from inside our room even with a full hotel. Breakfast was good and the location is very handy to both train stations and the city center"

"Beautiful grounds and castle room. Don’t recommend staying next to the elevator though as it was quite loud"

"Nice location if you have a vehicle. Good pub next door. A bit outdated and u nder renovations so pool, gym, etc not available. Staff very helpful and pleasant"

"Close to the Uni; parking, clean rooms, breakfast included; good price; check-in convenience"

"We had a really pleasant stay ahead of an early flight the following morning. Comfy bed, great staff and nice biscuits."

"Helpful staff and impressive view."

"Rustic setting but not remote, excellent food, lovely staff,"

"It is an older style building, but was clean, central and really good value. The setting and gardens are great and brilliant for dogs."

"Lovely & very accommodating hosts & very good breakfasts. Room was spotless with king size bed, TV, sea views, plenty of storage space, compact ensuite, etc. The on site parking requires some care from drivers, especially if you have a large car. Town centre, pubs, railway station & beach all a short walk down the hill."

"Lovely friendly pub serving excellent breakfast."
