Well-located hotel. Very close to restaurants, shops, tube stations and Paddington train Station. The buffet style breakfast was quite good with both English and continental choices. Staff was attentive and helpful.
Got there a day late due to flight issues, they accommodated me and even upgraded my room when they saw that I was a big guy, room was clean and walking distance to the festival the free breakfast was better than I expected it to be,I will definitely be back next year the staff was awesome and friendly 😊
I was very impressed with the Phoenix Hotel. I have stayed in a number of budget hotels in London and usually they are mostly in a pretty poor state, run down and dirty. I thought the Phoenix was very good value for money. The room was pleasant and clean, and there was a decent Continental breakfast with plenty of options included in the price. Good location too, within walking distance of Hyde Park, the V&A and the Natural History Museum. I would stay here again and would recommend it to others.
Unfortunately I was not aware of the size of room. It was so small I am claustrophobic and hard for me to spend two nights there. Rest is all good. Next time I will check before booking.
Phoenix Hotel was wonderful. We will stay here the next time we come to London. Location was perfect. Close to Bayswater subway station and lots of restaurants and little grocery. The breakfast was great. We were very happy with our stay and can’t wait to go back.
Location is very convenient for visiting major places in London and has a lot of food choices in the neighborhood. Breakfast is enough good in quality and variety. Overall very good cost performance, I would say. Only I miss is a refrigerator not available in the guest room, but they allow us to use their refrigerator at the hotel reception.
Very nicely maintained hotel in an excellent location. The single room was very small, but that was expected, and it was fine for one person. The furnishings seemed new enough and the water pressure in the shower was strong. The bed was a little lumpy. The continental breakfast was quite nice if you're happy without hot dishes. The location is minutes from the high street with two Tube stations and loads of cafes, restaurants and shops. Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park is a short (less than 10 minute) walk. The hotel is on a quiet street. The hotel bar is never open, but there are at least 4 pubs within 2 minutes. Overall very good value for money.
I arrived to my room on a sunny day to find a broken fan. I quickly called reception but proceeded to sweat for 30 mins as I kept waiting and calling for a replacement. Later, it took almost two hours to receive a iron once again after repeated asks. Then, on both Saturday and Sunday mornings I was woken up by the housekeeping with a knock on the door to clean the room at 9am.
The hotel uses single use plastics and provided body wash containers which were way too small. Breakfast was inedible. Location was convenient and central.
Lovely hotel in a great location.
Bathroom clean and looks new
Amenities in room - fan, refreshment tray, hairdryer, some toiletries
I had a single room, plenty big enough for me but fairly compact.
I had breakfast one day which was continental, lots of choice and an absolute bargain at £7.50!
Off the main thoroughfare but minutes from lots of restaurants, cafes, convenience stores and 2 tube stops so super easy to get around.
Definitely would recommend - price and location a steal for the area!
First room was quite noisy, was able to change rooms to a much quiter location.
Breakfast was varied and filling.
Location is great, multiple restaurants and few minutes to Bayswater tube stop.
