"Room was spacious and clean the bathroom had toiletries and plenty of towels. Lovely food but the drinks prices were expensive compared to other pubs in the town. Pleasant stay we enjoyed."

"Comfortabel bed, nice air conditioning. Shower was ok, but water flow was a bit low. Coffee not great at breakfast."

"Staff were friendly, polite, and helpful. Room was to a good standard, with decent facilities (tea/coffee, desk etc, usual things). Not so pleased to have to pay for parking, but I understand that it is near some sort of conference centre, so I imagine it is due to that. Had to book a slot for the swimming pool in the morning, but when I got there I was the only one in there so that felt a bit pointless; also, when I got there, there was no one at the desk in the health centre to check me in, so I had to find a towel myself and make my own way in."
Mercure Newport Hotel

"Very nice clean hotel . We had a fabulous view from the 24th floor. Menu looked disappointing for the type of food on offer and there is a modern food court within ten mins walk with more choice and better prices. Don’t stay out late though as hotel bar shuts early. The area immediately outside the hotel is not great and the nearest pubs are decidedly sketchy. Caerleon is a ten minute £10 cab ride away for some lovely pubs restaurants and museums."

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lamb & Flag - Abergavenny. Staff are lovely, pub is great, breakfast is fabulous. Would highly recommend this pub as a place to stay should one be visiting Abergavenny and require a place to stay."
