"A cross between a hostel and hotel. Lots of young and happy travellers with a large hang out lounge/workspace/kitchen area for them. Bed was very comfortable. Excellent location so easy to walk everywhere and a block from the bus station. The bar makes excellent cocktails and the morning breakfast was excellent."

"The hotel is conveniently located within the city center and made it easy to walk to shops and many great restaurants. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed at the hotel for a few days at the start of our trip and again on our last few days of our trip. We did purchase the breakfast option and what exactly was included seemed to be staff-dependent. During our first stays, we were not told of any restrictions on the breakfast menu. However, on our second stay, we got conflicting information: some of the mornings, the server pointed out which menu items were excluded from our breakfast options, and on another morning, a different staff was serving us and did not express any menu restrictions. The hotel does not have its own parking garage, but does have an agreement with a public parking garage within a short walk from the hotel; you only get charged a fee per exit which is a great deal, especially if you’re not driving everyday. There are only two public parking slots in front of the hotel so you may have to park around the corner and pay when checking in/out."

"Travel to Christchurch bi-monthly on Thursdays for work, stay at the Commodore for first night (work pays). Then I stay the weekend at the Ramada. Last week I couldn't get into the Ramada on Tuam. So booked in at the Breakfree. I was pleasantly surprised. Dbl bed, internal glass corner bathroom. Bed very comfortable, and pitch black when lights are off as no windows. Great shower and good linen and towels stayed 3 nights. Right in town so walking distance to CBD, Arts preccinct, great food selection and Riverside markets. I ate out 3 days for breakfast, so can't comment on buffet breakfast. Looks good and will try it next time. Staff friendly and housekeeping. Highly reccommend this jem."
