"Although this hotel is basically surrounded by fields, at the outskirts of town and you need a car to get there, they charge 10 pounds for parking. Where else are you to park. That is corporate greed in my opinion. For breakfast my wife and I just wanted to purchase a coffee and a piece of toast or pastry. No such choice possible. It's either a full buffet breakfast for 18 pounds or nothing."

"Very clean and staff hepful and friendly. Rooms small but perfectly adequate for short stay. Breakfast selection in room rather than in an eating area. Continental as expected but too sweet and rich for our taste."

"The property was was pretty much as expected, The room was clean and big. The issue we had was there did not seem to be sufficent sound deading between the rooms, as we could hear voices from other rooms. Could not hear what they were saying, but could near the noise. Luckily they went to bed about the same time we did and did not wake up before we did, but it not what we wanted or expected. It was in a very isolated location. That was not a problem for us, but something to be aware of. The price was the main selction point, so it was a good valude for the price. Just the room noise sort of made it less than what we wanted."

"This was a fantastic find. Lovely room, super friendly service and amazing breakfast. We also booked in for dinner last night which was delicious, with a great selection of food, beer and wine. We'd only booked in order to break a journey between Aberdeen and Oxford but now we are seriously looking at coming back to explore the area as it was so good."

"Really nice guesthouse on the edge of Kendal, just a 15 minute walk into town. Glen the owner is lovely, really personal and can't do enough for you. You have your own parking space, breakfast was more than enough and the rooms are well stocked with goodies and the mini fridge is a bonus."
