2/10 Terrible

"I booked this stay because ai was looking for accommodations somewhere central as I had hurt my back and was very limited in how much I could walk. This was centrally located so it seemed a great choice. unfortunately, when I arrived I had to climb a set of stairs just to get to reception. fortunately the attendant happened to be at the entrance and he helped me bring up my luggage. However, I then get my room which is up two more flights of stairs!! I tried getting there, but it was too much. I asked for a room in the lowest level, but they had none. Nowhere in the property description did it say it was a walk up nor that it did not have an elevator. I had to leave and pay premium at another hotel because of the last-minute change. Not only that, but they refused to refund me! This has been the worst travel experience I’ve had in the last 20 years. I can’t believe they won’t refund and would have rather me be in extreme pain."

Mercure Inverness Hotel

2/10 Terrible

"The entire front of this hotel overlooks a street with bars that are so loud you feel like they are in the room with you. We only spent time in this hotel to sleep and unfortunately could not sleep until about 2:30 each night once the bars closed and the customers final dispersed. It's probably okay if you are on the river side but if you aren't they really have no business renting these rooms for over $400/night. The carpets all throughout the hotel are very dirty and worn. We knew we had made a mistake the minute we stepped into the lobby."

Ardross Glencairn

6/10 Okay

"Bed and pillow like concrete. Bathroom taps would not turn off completely, shower head would not stay up and pump on shower soda didn’t work so had to unscrew to get shower soap. Only thing going for it is location and reception staff."

The Coo's Guest House

4/10 Poor

"Clean but spartan - seemed more like a hostel than a guest house. Small room and even smaller en suite bathroom. TV remote was either broken or had dead batteries. Unfortunately nobody on site to ask for new batteries so we were limited to only one channel. Check in is on your own as there isn’t anyone to greet you upon arrival. Most concerning was that, because the pin sign in system wasn’t working, the owners had simply left a key in the front door which would allow anyone entry and which I thought was reckless. Overall, this was a fair experience but, for the price, I thought very overrated. So I gave it a poor rating for the disparity. "

"Right on the river ness. Walking /running path very convenient . Quiet are but not far from pubs and restaurants. Bfast was lovely each day and their dinner good too. No elevators so just be aware. We preferred second floor room to first."

6/10 Okay

"A standard chain hotel minimally staffed by well-meaning but clearly overworked young people. There are certainly worse / far more expensive places you could stay. At least it's close to the river and the inner city."

Craigmonie Hotel Inverness by Compass Hospitality

6/10 Okay

"Our had not be cleaned properly from the people previously. The floor had not been hoovered. The window sill and cups were dirty. There were hairs in the tea mugs. There were rubbish at the back of the bedside cabinets and we could write our name in the dust on the bed. Disgusting and not acceptable at the price per room."
