"The staff was attentive, friendly and polite = Excellent Our room was clean and the bed comfortable, the updated bathroom was a plus. On site parking with easy access in a nice, quiet residential neighbourhood. The hotel restaurant was convenient, however it took quite a while to place an order as it appeared short staffed."

"A great comfortable stay with very friendly and helpful staff. Had breakfast which was cooked fresh for us. Good price for the room. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again. Very close to the Bridley Theatre too."

"Friendly, welcoming staff on check in. Room was a good size. Breakfast served from 4am but limited food on display, no hot food available. If you're getting dropped off by car, the reception will validate the ticket so you are not charged."

"A very pleasant quiet hotel with comfortable room and a very good breakfast and service."

"Lovely comfortable clean room with comfy beds. Good food especially breakfast. My only very minor personal quibble is only tinned mushrooms-much prefer fresh."

"Fantastic property! Very accommodating and great service, highly recommend. Great breakfast as well."

"We stayed in this glorious hotel overnight as a family of three plus our dog. We had the most wonderfully warm welcome upon our arrival and this was further enhanced by the rustic charm that this lovely hotel exuded by way of its decor. Richard and his wife were fabulous hosts and the continental breakfast that they served to us this morning was very impressive .. warm croissants, toast, cereal and an array of fresh...

"Rooms beautiful and spotlessly clean as always. Bar service and evening meal were amazing. Stayed a few times before and will be returning again. Every stay has been faultless. Didn’t have breakfast this time but I can vouch it’s definitely one worth getting up for."

"I found it deeply disturbing that some guests were permitted to sit in the foyer, lounge and breakfast room in their pyjamas and moreover, to discover that this practice is acceptable with Mercure St Helens, Merseyside. All of which made our stay an uncomfortable one."

"Great value for money. Excellent breakfast just no uncooked option ie fruit ,cereal or yoghurt. Quiet at night. Brilliant staff. Room a bit tired ours could have done with a refresh."

"The hotel overall was good, it was clean and the staff where good. The room was clean, and the bathroom was clean. The bed was terrible, creaking bed/headboard, the pillows offered no support and the mattress was uncomfortable. Bar was good, breakfast was really good."

"Booked this hotel for its location and being able to bring my dog. Room was clean and spacious. Good selection of food available."

"Set in the quiet countryside, access is down a private drive leading to a secure carpark in front of the main building. The staff were very welcoming and the food served was very nice. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed our weekend"
