About this property

Nan’s Place Vacation Home! Traditional salt box home w/ accessibility ramp

  • Welcome to Nan's Place! This charming home was built in 1949, in Coombs Cove, Newfoundland by our grandparents. As part of the Newfoundland government's resettlement plan, the house was barged across Fortune Bay to its current location in 1974. This traditional Biscuit Box home has undergone extensive renovations and includes everything needed to feel at home during your stay.

While every room in this house has undergone extensive cosmetic renovations, it is still an old house with plenty of character and charm.

Rooms on the upper level are small, but private.

Full access to the house except for the basement. Door will be locked with a key.

Town water is discolored but safe for consumption.

Very large, very clean house. Kitchen has everything you would need. No outdoor seating. Laundry facilities. Bring your own supplies if you have more than 2 loads. Walk to historic downtown area and waterfront park beach Large grocery store/liquor store and great local grocery store close by. No cable only wifi channels. 30 mins to Marystown for more diverse shops. 2 very good establishments in town for lunch and sweets. No personal hygiene products supplied except hand soapOverall a good spot to explore Burin peninsula from.
