"This is a superb Gite which provided all the essentials to relax and enjoy our visit; including an extensive arrivals package. Both the Gite and garden are beautiful. The pool was large with extensive seating. The house was very comfortable and included air-conditioning in the bedrooms. Located just south of Bergerac town and the Dordogne it is ideally located to explore Saint-Emilion, Eymet, Issigeac, Monpazier, Molieres and beyond. Serge and Beatrice were excellent hosts and went out of their way to be helpful: Many thanks for a great week "

"The rustic property, in a rural location, is outwardly very pretty. Inside, it’s a little gloomy and cluttered for our liking although I suppose that’s to be expected from a property of this nature and a feature which I’m sure will be appreciated by a lot of visitors. The pool is cleaned and prepared for use daily, which was appreciated. It should be noted however that it’s not ‘completely’ private, as per the description, and can be viewed easily from the owner’s adjoining property. There was no time, while using the pool, when we saw the owner and I’m sure they do their best to provide privacy but this isn’t quite the same as it being ‘completely’ private. The part of the description I take greatest umbrage with is that it’s air conditioned (along with an icon of an air conditioning unit). This property is NOT air conditioned and I don’t consider the provision of two modestly sized fans a replacement for actual, bonafide air conditioning. I did point this out to Jill but my thoughts were dismissed out of hand. I find this description at best to be clumsy, and at worse, misleading. We stayed for nine days, the first two being over 30C, and the mezzanine was unbearably hot overnight. Mercifully, the remainder were low 20C and the place was fine. Prospective renters should be aware of this and be mindful of the expected weather at the time of their proposed booking! "

"Absolutely superb to sum it up. We were there in a heatwave (4 days of 42 degrees) so Xavier brought extra fans and was always on hand to help. 9 adults. 1 teenager, 2 kids and a baby…. All were pleased with their stay! We used the air con unit from the top floor to keep the middle floor cool each night. The pool is awesome and one of the biggest we remember in a rental. 14m long so big enough for those keen to swim! The BBQ area was used a few times, disappointingly the previous guests hadn’t cleared up everywhere (cupboards) which is just frustrating as it then looks bad on the host. There is so much room in the property and everything is provided. Even if there’s something wrong, Xavier responds immediately. WiFi was great everywhere although it did drop out after we had a storm and a power cut so easily fixed. Definitely would benefit from further air con units, especially in warm weather. And be prepared (especially when hot) for flies! The games room was great and kids and adults a like used it a lot. Plenty of parking. Easy to find. 5 mins from a local supermarket or 15 mins from Lidl and a large Hypermarche. Loved the huge fridge with the auto ice maker and the 2nd fridge which was always well stocked with bubbles and beer! Amazing place! Highly recommend and highly recommend host! "
