"The location is beautiful and serene, the staff takes great care of you. They serve a wonderful Japanese breakfast, and are nestled right along the river in the park. It’s a short hike to the waterfall, and also down to minoh station, to connect you to the rest of Osaka. Finally, when your day is done they have an amazing private spa, which comes as part of the experience. It includes a hot spa bath, shower, and sauna, that really complement the location and help you relax. "

"This was my family’s first Japanese osen and I hope it will not be the last. The property was very clean and charming. The shuttle to and from the train station was convenient but didn’t start until 9 am and ended before 6 pm. However, the taxi fare was ok and we only needed to use it once during our two night stay to get back from sightseeing in Kyoto,’. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and, I think, very traditional Japanese food. The hot springs were at the perfect temperature. Our futon beds were comfortable. Overall, our stay was immensely relaxing. If you are looking for a very traditional, serene Japanese experience,, at least from the perspective of an American, I believe you will find it here."

"It has a great location along the river in Arishyama. It is close to shops and restesturaunts as well. It offers traditional style Japanese rooms and some fantastic traditional dining as well. We asked for a change to our accommodations and staff were very willing to accommodate. Over all would recommend this hotel."

"Nice room, but not a good view and staff was not accommodating. Breakfast, laundry, and onsen usage were all for absorbently high additional costs, not reasonable at all. "

However, we were disappointed that the mist sauna didn’t work, and there was no cold pool available; all the pools were very hot, making it difficult to cool off. The menu is entirely Japanese with no substitutions or accommodations for dietary restrictions, and while tea is available, there is no coffee. Also, because of the remote location, the lack of nearby restaurants or convenience stores made me feel somewhat trapped. The property itself is dated and showing its age, with the restaurant and bar closed permanently. Although the library offers a pretty setting, it was unlit, and the heat was off, rendering it unusable. "
