"The gentleman on reception who checked us in was really lovely and very welcoming. The room was nice and spacious. Pillows were a bit too soft for our personal tastes and rooms could do with a kettle but otherwise very happy with our stay. Breakfast was nice also. Staff definitely stood out for us as being the best feature of this hotel!"

"Staff were friendly and helpful, accommodation was clean, room was lovely. Parking is ample although there is a charge per day that isn’t clear on their website although I expect it is relative to the excellent central location. We would definitely stay here again."

The Stones Hotel

"One of our rooms was very hot and loud because it’s near the extraction fan from the restaurant. Another room where my parents stayed, the heating was on (during a May heat wave) and the tap/showering water was boiling hot with no cold running at all. The staff came to check, said there are no spare rooms to switch to because of the bank holiday weekend. They called the manager, promised to give me an answer, but then I saw ran to her car and never showed again. I asked another staff member. They called the manager and said they will give me partial refund and discount for breakfast, but I will need to wait until 9am tomorrow for the manager to come. We waited until 11am and the manager never showed up. I left my number to ask them to call me. No returned call. I have asked agent to follow up with them. Again, 1st they said they will refund, but need to wait the manager to sign off. I just received message that this hotel refused to refund. They charged double their usual rate and they provided little to no service, no management and poor living conditions."

"Lovely setting and an attractive building, but furnishings and details dated and worn (carpets, decor etc). Bathroom window couldn't be opened, nor did it have a curtain or blind (and was overlooked) so felt a bit uncomfortable, though a good size and nice to have a bath. It was a really warm night and the fan in the room was unique in appearing to work but moving no air at all, so along with a small bed, it wasn't a great night's sleep. Lady in reception when we arrived was polite but indifferent (could have just caught her on a bad day though!) All in all a little disappointing although nothing terrible."

"One of the best hotels I have had the privilege to stay in❤️ From the checking in with Amanda to the room itself, absolutely beautiful . A pitty the weather didn’t play ball, location amazing , view amazing , city a short stroll away. If you want a nice hotel this is the one for you!"
