6/10 Okay

"Room was pretty clean but felt like I had walked into a time paradox as the room felt like it was from the 90's, bed skirt was damaged and the bath also heavily stained and damaged as well. Quiet location and slept pretty well but I always search for a hotel with a gym however expedia needs to start filtering hotels like this out as a basic room costing into 3 figures and then im being asked to pay to use the gym which is totally out of order in my opinion. The bar was obscenely expensive (£4.85 for a soft drink) and the bar tender dipping the glass into the ice as well a massive H&S issue so didnt bother with dinner and breakfast was also not included either. As a whole not the worst place ive been but unlikely to stop here again"

Farmhouse Innlodge by Greene King Inns

6/10 Okay

"Rooms were clean staff excellent just don't eat there, the breakfast was probably worse than you could get from Farmfoods, a lot of it should be banned from human consumption yes the sausages! Then I had something from the Hungry Horse, yes I know it's cheap and get what you pay for (beer £6.75 though) but when I was asked how well done I'd like my mixed grill steak I almost chuckled and was right to do so. Perhaps they should ask how dry would you like it. To make matters worse, they fcuked up my table number so the cr@p food was cold. I couldn't be bothered with the admin as I paid on company credit card. B&B £71 you get what you pay for."

Royal Maritime Hotel, BW Signature Collection

6/10 Okay

"Visited whilst they are under some form of renovation, so lifts weren't working and it was a maze trying to find our rooms as there were no signs up. Lot's of construction mess everywhere. Breakfast was pretty poor, sausages seemed to have been cooked for 5days as they were tough as anything. Best thing was the evening meal in the restaurant, very nice food. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Stayed here as we were visiting the historic dockyards and the location was perfect for this."

Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth - Gunwharf Quays by IHG

8/10 Good

"Nice comfortable and clean rooms. Great location, right in the centre of Gunwarf Quays. The hotel also offers extra discounts to shops and restaurants for guests. Parking was in the main carpark for Gunwarf, and if you validate at the hotel you get the first 24hrs for free and every day after for £2 (usually £28 for 24hrs) Biggest highlight was Wayne on the bar, made us so welcome, gave good recommendations and made us a laugh."

Southsea Rocks Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The room was very clean and reception staff extremely helpful. I particularly liked using the facilities in the dining room to make breakfast - fridge, microwave, sink and kettle. There are five parking spaces at the front, and the location is not far from the sea or Southsea town. I was travelling alone and felt very safe staying at this hotel. The price was also very reasonable. Would stay here again."
