"What can I say? Dreams Onyx is the best! Every year we travel to the D. R. and every year we are at Dreams Onyx. The only change is if we stay 7 or 10 days!!!
The resort is always in tip top shape. Always clean and yards are manicured well. Pools are kept clean. Beach area is cleaned as best they can. This last time it was seaweed season, but they did their best to keep up with it. If seaweed bothers you, don't go during it's season.
We never had a problem getting chairs at any of the pools. In fact it was noon and there were plenty at the main pool. The preferred pool is a little different situation, but chairs were available when we wanted them. I did read in one of the postings that if personal items/ towels are set out on chairs before 8 am. Staff does pick them up and takes to lost and found. Pools open at 8, so after 8 is fine to select chairs and walk away. Most times we would select our chairs and then go to breakfast. Didn't have a problem when we came back.
The food is OKay whether it's the buffet or specialty restaurants. No reservatio needed except for the Hibachi. Which was a great show and food. Our Butler. ANGEL, (THE BEST)did secure us a spot at specialty restaurants anyway. There wasn't ever a line to get in. Service was fast and wait staff pleasant. Please tip them.
Overall it's a wonderful place to vacation. Tip the employees, they work long days. 12 hr shifts, 12days on, 3 off."
