"The night we arrived the hotel would not seat us for dinner. "Too busy" they said, "order food from the bar." We ordered food from the bar but they lost the order, though we had prepaid it. They had also lost the receipt for our payment. The result after more than two hours is we were left stranded with no dinner at a late hour when all the restaurants in town were closed. We had to leave the hotel on foot and buy sandwiches from an all night convenience store. The hotel offered no compensation other than a "free drink" coupon, useless to us (I don't drink). Altogether one of the worst hospitality blunders ever."

"Unfortunately our package included entrance to the spa , on arriving I enquired about using the spa but the receptionist said it was best to give the spa a miss as it was so hot it was like a greenhouse . As we had driven a way we didn’t want to be over heated rather have an hour relaxing before going out for the evening . Instead we looked for an outside area to sit and unwind with a cold drink . We found a seating area with a couple of tables . There was quite a lot of cups , glasses and plates on each table and a lot of ants on these . They still remained uncollected when we went out in the evening . Our room did have a small fan provided but unfortunately the fan caught in the grating protecting this emitting a loud screech . We found this out once we had retired for the night so didn’t request a different one and didn’t use it . The breakfast was very good and the waiting staff pleasant and efficient ."

"Upon arrival we were met with loud music what seemed like a soul weekender. There was forewarning regarding this and our room was not ready. We had a child of 8 with us so it was a bit unfair on him. The bathroom had no fascia on the shower temp control and there was mould on the ceiling. The tissue box had no tissues in during our two night stay. The mini fridge was not stocked upon arrival . When I asked if I could see the room before I was paid I was told they needed a managers consent which was finally given. I was also told that if I didn’t like the loud music I could leave and not check in. The restaurant staff was amazing and they looked after us very well"

"The hotel needs to round off the handles on the room doors. Mine was razor-sharp and when I checked in the door handle cut my little finger halfway up its length. Since door handles are often handled by dirty hands, they are a vector for disease and it’s just a matter of time until the hotel faces a major lawsuit. The attached photo shows the length of the cut after four days of healing."
