We had a fab time at tarr farm inn lots of good walks and then fabulous food and a comfy bed to return to at the end of the day. The staff were polite and helpful and we couldn’t have asked for more
We had a lovely stay. Our room was spacious and yet had a really cosy feel. Our evening meal was absolutely delicious, as was breakfast. The view from our room was beautiful and we had a nice walk over Tarr Steps. We will definitely return.
We stayed in the double room very clean and tidy with all the added touches and fresh milk in the fridge the bed was incredibly comfortable although we felt this particular room could do with a little updating in the bathroom but all in all would certainly book this stay again
We passed through Tarr Steps about 18 months ago and grabbed a brochure at the time for the hotel. Our stay was 5/5 lovely place, really nice staff and the food was fantastic we tried a variety the 42 day dry aged steak and the fish both for dinner and breakfast. Highly recommend the burger as well. Probably the best review is to say we will definitely go back!!
A very rustic experience in the communal areas, befitting of the area that we were in. However, the rooms had a very luxurious feel to them.
The only negative from me was the lack of soundproofing in my room. I could hear the couple above me and next door, as well as their plumbing.
Breakfast was nice.
Being right next to Tarr steps and the water you’d expect your dog to get wet , and they were prepared with lots of dog towels and biscuits . Separate dining for doggy friends . You can only leave them in the room whilst you do fine dining if you remember to bring a crate . We’d of liked the breakfast options to of been in dig area too as walking through bar and up several steps meant it was a little uncomfortable for some . The breakfast wax Definitely the highlight , omg ! Supper was expensive but superb . My only down point was bathroom could do with a lick of paint around side panel but it’s neatly end of dragon and might be in the to do list ! Loved it !
The setting of the hotel is beautiful and the rooms were well appointed.
The food was excellent both breakfast and dinner.
Important that you use the correct post code in your sat Nav (not necessarily the one found online) as we used the wrong one and ended up on the wrong side of the river meaning a very lengthy detour (along narrow country roads) to access the hotel.
Only stayed one night, which is way too short a stay so will have to return to do it full justice. Room was warm and comfortable. Dinner was outstanding. Staff welcoming and attentive. Fantastic walking nearby. Pity winter storms had damaged the Tarr Steps but a short walk up the Barle valley was exhilarating even on a wet Monday morning. Perfect way to walk off a hearty Tarr Farm Inn breakfast.
Food was good - both breakfast and bar meals. Where things could have improved was at check out - e.g. thanking us for our stay, asking if we’d stay again. Other guests seemed to be asked these things so inconsistent.
The property is in an excellent position, the standard of accommodation is first rate .The staff are friendly and courteous the food was gourmet standard and overall was an excellent base for my motorcycle touring.
Stayed here for my partner's birthday and it was perfect; delicious meal, lovely room and an ideal location for heading off for a long walk straight from the hotel.
Location location location complimented by excellent accommodation great food evening and especially breakfast . Pleasant and effective staff . Can’t to revisit with my two Welsh terriers
