The overall property was nice and clean. However the cleaning staff forgot to clean out the refrigerator between guests- gross. Made me question what other short cuts were made in the room cleaning process. Discovered hours after check-in, Cleaning staff was long gone, soffit desk delivered a trash bag for me to place the waste in. The staff was overwhelmingly accommodating both in the check in process for the multiple rented rooms and in preparation for the Lion's game.
Executive Riverview Suite is everything you'd expect it to be. Clean, quiet, spacious, and amazing view. Bathrooom upgrades are very needed, but doesnt ruin the experience. However, a large part of this type of experience is proper concierge services. To which there were none. As in zero. Constant calls to the front desk, concierge service button, and dining option button from in-room all proved useless. No one ever picked up during our entire stay. The online ordering system through website was also broken and would give errors at checkout. Requiring you to go downstairs to the Fuel Restaurant or à la carte fir sny food or drinks. Aside from this I look forward to my next stay in Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.
I will be asking for money back it was so bad, we walked into our room to see human feces everywhere in the bathroom and room. We request a new room and we walk into a room that has a view to the other tower instead of river view as we paid for. Everything was dated and dirty, breakfast was 35$ a person. Valet staff was great!

Disliked: Staff & service
They are short on employees and lack of room service attendants
We did not get our room cleaned on 2 of 4 nights on 3 rooms our group had.
The management only offered to review it
Dont stay here
Made reservations for two rooms through Expedia. I didn't like that I could not request adjoining rooms before arriving at the hotel. Called the hotel directly immediately after making reservation and because it was about a month out from arrival date, they could not take my request. It was suggested I call closer to my arrival date. Made another direct call to the hotel less than a week out and was told that because I booked the rooms through a third party, their policy does not allow them (the hotel) to take my request and that I would have to make my request through the third party (Expedia). Went to the third party about three days out and asked that they provide my request to the hotel. Response from Marriott two days later did not acknowledge my request, but gave me guidance for events happening in June. I arrived the first part of August. (?) I believe Kourtney at the front desk did the best she could in trying to accommodate our party of three adults for the two rooms. (One of the party being a ninety-year old not in the best health.)
At 100 percent the hotel is rated at first class to me and meets all of the requirements of great rental properties.

Liked: Cleanliness
Did not clean our room everday, never saw what the cleaning schedule was. Called down to front desk for more towels never received.ice machine did not have ice. Nice bar with good drinks.
food service was less than expected - shops closed - view from room less than described room was small and bathroom smaller -- no storage space to unload luggage
The hotel was a great experience. The staff, for the most part, was phenomenal, very nice, and accommodating. I want to give a special thank you to Jacqueline, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and right at home; we really appreciated it. My view was amazing, but the bathroom was dated, and I was disappointed because I assumed I was getting the renovated river view room. I booked through a third party and should have booked directly if I wanted some of my special requests honored a little better. Other than that, we enjoyed it and will be back.
No swimming pool, no free WiFi at room, no room service, drinking water system pathetic, you will have to collect two water bottle from reception everytime , if you are thirsty at night, what will happen. They took my money as security deposit at the time of check-in, but have not yet returned even after six days. I am surprised why they were not able to return at the time of check-out. Pathetic situation.
