"We enjoyed our stay in the Deluxe Tree Lodge, but encountered two issues. When we arrived, the heater was not working, but the staff very quickly addressed that situation. The bathroom had an intermittent sewer smell coming up from the pipes, but it was not a problem as long as we left the bathroom fan running continuously. Given the relatively high price for this accommodation, I can only give it four stars."

"Friendly team, good amenities & centre of town. Communal lounge & kitchen is well equipped. All in all a good stay at a good price."

"This motel doesn’t look impressive from the outside, but the inside was immaculately clean, spacious, and modern. Excellent value, definitely recommend."

"The place was comfortable, warm, and clean with 2 bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. There were minimal amenities, and the shower didn't drain well. But we had a great time and highly recommend this place"

"Lovely, spacious room with a fabulous ocean view. Staff are friendly & helpful. Meals in the restaurant are tasty & plentiful. Everything in town is within easy walking distance."

"Beautiful sitting right on the beach and across the street from the very lovely glowworm den. We loved the beachfront chalet and we definitely will return and stay several days next visit. Note that a person with impaired mobility would find the bed upstairs in the loft and the bathroom downstairs to be inconvenient."

"Property exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable& even had robes & slippers & high end bath products. Great location with excellent restaurant right around the corner. Highly recommend for stay when in visiting Franz Joseph & Fox Glacier area."

"The 2 bedroom family room was small and sparse but cozy. The heated beds were a plus and the lodge was easily walkable to the grocery store, a great cafe, and the Fox Glacier HeliTours office. The office had games and puzzles to loan for rainy days. Room was clean and beds were comfy"

"Clean, simple and warm with everything you need. We stayed in a double room which had an ensuite, small fridge and jug. The mattress was quite hard though."

"Had everything we needed, clean and tidy, friendly and helpful staff"

"For a 340nzd/night hotel, totally unacceptable. While the reception staff was friendly and helpful, the condition of the room preparation and facility was shockingly bad. * No Shampoo in the room * The casing of the air conditioner is open, exposing internal compartments and components. It appears someone might be fixing or cleaning it, but the job is unfinished and it was left open. * The room's air conditioner was incredibly loud and made a constant, rapid ticking noise while running. "The hotel was nice with many dining options within walking distance. The rooms provided good heating and was a comfortable stay."

"Could not fault this place exactly what we needed Great facilities easy check in clean and tidy would recommend"

"Staff friendly enough however when we went to ask some more information questions the office was closed, even though their office hours indicated they would be open! Room comfortable, warm & quiet. Handy to walk anywhere in town. A nice stay"

"This hotel is all about the scenic location with a beautiful beach and the blow holes an easy 1/2 mile walk from the hotel. The room was nice, large and clean, but could use a bit of refreshing. The location is so spectacular that any deficiencies are easily overlooked. Staff were all excellent, and we will definitely stay here again on our next trip to the West Coast."

"Great place to stay, staff were very helpful and friendly, great place to stay thank you"

"Wonderful property very unique"

"If you're looking for a budget lodging option, this is a great choice. We stayed in the cabins. They were a bit outdated, but were clean and well-kept. The bathrooms were very nice, always clean and lots of space. Staff was helpful with check-in, even with the possibility of our late check-in."

"Nice place"

"This was a clean, beautiful and quiet place to stay. Great location too. Reception was very helpful. Would stay here again"
