"We arrived at the property and we was not told about the ongoing building work going on at the hotel. There is scaffolding all around the hotel no views from the window due to a scaffolding dirty windows unsafe no locks on the windows meaning people can climb with the ladders and get into your room rude Bar manager overall experience very bad. This hotel should be closed down until the work is completed."

"Absolutely loved my stay here. The facilities and the location are both spectacular. All staff members were just brilliant. A particular 'shout out' to Sasha and John in the restaurant, Steak at Six. Thank you for taking such good care of me and my friends. We all had a fantastic time: Thank you. "This hotel does not match the description. It is the shabbiest building that I saw on the Promenade. Is not expensive, but that shouldn't be used as an excuse for how dirty and poorly maintained it was. In my room there was damp on the ceiling from an old leak, and mould and fungus growth was well established, so it hasn't just happened. The wardrobe door was falling off, there were homes in the walls, and the carpet was grubby. Not a pleasant experience at all!"

"The hotel is tired and has an overwhelming smell of stale smoke in the hallways and bedrooms. Staff were friendly but miscommunication between the front desk and housekeeping, meant that requests were missed or forgotten. Best bit of the hotel is the bar and outdoor terrace. The pool was lovely but the changing rooms were not. Definitely gives off conference vibes - would not stay there for pleasure."

"Lovely room, well appointed. The staff were really helpful and lovely. A great stay all round. No negatives whatsoever. Very convenient for the city but also for the motorway network. The spa was one of the best I've visited on a hotel site. Recommend highly!"

"Our sea view room was clean and spacious. The bed mattress was a bit uncomfortable though. The bathroom was clean. Could do with a couple of armchairs in the room rather than wooden ones but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room as we were out and about most of the time. The breakfasts were good with a good choice to suit most people. We've been to the grand now about 8 times now and have honestly never had any real issues. Looking forward to our next visit."

"All excellent except dogs permitted indoors. I agree with assistance dogs but 2 of my travelling companions have had adverse experiences with dogs. One was bitten by a family pet the other chased down the street by a Rottweiler that had escaped through a fence. Given that neither of those attacks were reported there must be more than double the 24,000 annual reported attacks. In addition hygiene can be an issue if dogs go into food serving areas! Since the pandemic there has been a proliferation...

"The staff were friendly and helpful, allowing storage of luggage and early check-in when we arrived. Room 109 was very small, with a waste-of-space secondary door and limited floor space. The card holder for the electricity connection was hidden when the door was opened, making it difficult to locate in the dark. The shower was very small with a triangular wall at one end, toilet was almost underneath the wash basin and there was very little space in the bathroom for toiletries and washing...

"Do NOT stay here if Cardiff is experiencing a heat wave. Our room was close to 90 degrees when checking in. It appears no one was in our room the night before. The room was on the fourth floor and 2 out of the 4 walls were almost all windows- with curtains that did not fully cover them. The property knew these rooms were hot, but didn’t seem to want to make things more comfortable for those who were checking in. The guest rooms do NOT have air conditioning BUT the common areas (halls, reception)...
