"We were encouraged by a tour guide to book a multi-star resort hotel in the Center of Siracusa. But, our research persuaded us that a boutique hotel on the Island of Ortigia was more in line with our standards and preferences. The Algila Ortigia Charme Hotel both met and exceeded our expectations. Everything, including the Center of Siracusa was within walking distance. The morning breakfast was convenient and ample. "Keswan and the team here were not helpful at all in my booking. Highly recommend avoiding the headache of staying here. Refused to help me in altering my booking at all, even though I contacted them 5 minutes after making my booking (which was two weeks out...) Very unprofessional resort. Will not be coming back. Disappointing."

"This is a fabulous old style hotel brought up to date in a really good location for Ortigia. The rooftop restaurant and terrace have a beautiful view and breakfast has a very large choice and is very good. The staff are extremely attentive and all seem to have the freedom to chat to guests like human beings and not "5 star robots". A welcome change."

"Kamer net vernieuwd en alles in orde. Enkel kleine raam en zicht belemmerd door een boom zodat we niet konden genieten van terras en vanaf 16u licht in de kamer aandoen. Ondanks het meedelen bij de eerste dag van deze teleurstelling om van kamer te veranderen, is er niets gebeurd. Ontbijt kon beter : grote buffetten en personeel in 'automatische mode' zonder goedemorgen of andere.Zwembaden heel proper, zoals ganse site. Buffet 's avonds : in orde."

"We rented two rooms. The staff were wonderful and very helpful! The location was excellent with great views of the sea and convenient walking distance to cafes and restaurants. We would have really liked to have a coffee maker in the room. We were not interested in the full breakfast, but would have liked to have coffee in our rooms without getting fully dressed, leaving the building and visiting the hotel's other building across the street just to have a cup of coffee. "Fantastic location, clean rooms and very friendly, helpful staff - this is a great option in Ortigia. The rooms are quiet without street noise and the staff were very helpful in organizing offsite, secure parking for our rental car.The room was missing a few amenities like a safe (there were instructions to use one), a few additional toiletries like body wash and conditioner, and an iron. Definitely add this one to your list of places to stay. "
