New Holmwood Hotel

"The hotel is located on the beach and we arrived during the busiest time of the year- Cowes week and it was not easy getting rooms in any hotels . We booked 2 rooms for a family of 4 and we had clean sheets and clean bed . After paying £1900 for 2 rooms for 4 nights - breakfast not included, nobody at the reception after 5pm and no room service until asked was a huge disappointment. The staff are good but the way things are- it’s not going to attract more customers in the future. I had asked for my bathrooms to be cleaned - they just came and emptied the bins ( didn’t clean the toilets at all ) , didn’t wash the sink at all. I am not even sure if the towels were put back into the dryer and put back in the room without washing . We kept the milk in the fridge for our kids in their kitchen and they would bring it for us in the morning. That was the only thing that we liked about the service . They gave us a tower fan and a small table fan ( which was not effective at all in the 28 degrees weather ) . We liked the location and it was a comfortable 20 minutes walk to the high street . If we go back - we would stay somewhere else. It worked for us during a very busy time on the island but we won’t be going back again. If they want to make things better- please have one person at the reception desk post 5 pm and provide room service daily without question. Change the cups and teaspoons and put the biscuits, tea and coffee every afternoon for the next day. Fresh towels too ."

"Great location right near the RedJet dock and main harbour and high street boutique shops, restaurants and bars. The guy on the front desk was excellent. Rooms really well fitted out and stylish. Great hidden away large bar overlooking the water, which no-one seems to know about !! Would definitely stay again."

"Lovely old fashioned traditional hotel where guests are always right ! I was very impressed when I booked an evening meal . I had warned them I have numerous food intolerances . I hoped they would have something I could eat so was blown away when I was given a menu especially made for ME !! Ventnor is quiet and quaint . Only thing I struggled with was the room was very very warm so sleeping was tricky and it was very small for two ."

"Room was clean, and windows were excellently glazed to prevent any traffic noise from the streets. Very convenient with the bus stop right outside to get to the ferry as well as Newport/anywhere else on the isle. Osbourne house right across the street. food options were limited around the pub, but the floating bridge to Cowes conveniently down the road by either a 20 min walk or the bus."

"Great location just a couple of minutes from the beach. Tucked away in a quiet area. Good parking for a motorbike. All staff friendly and helpful. Room had all you needed. Large fan was a godsend. Breakfast cooked to order and delicious. Indoor pool lovely. Even has a brilliant private snooker room. Would stay again for next IOW visit."
Royal Esplanade Hotel

"It was very hot and they forgot to put a fan in my room but when ask one was supplied, the doors on the outside keep banging when other guests coming or going and the noise from some bikes rasing on the street below my window kept me up a long time during the night but the staff in the restaurant and hotel are great."

The Birdham Hotel & Restaurant

"Lovely Hotel , very clean and fab room but could of done with a bigger room with our Grandson.! Staff were excellent, helpful and friendly and the breakfast was tasty and plentiful. A tiny fridge would be helpful in the room but over all we had a lovely stay at the Birdham. What a lovely part of the Island Bembridge is, in my opinion the nicest exception apart from the Needles. Bembridge has lovely quiet beaches to visit and we found the people very friendly. Was a wonderful week🙂"
