"Because it is also a pub the welcome was a little underwhelming."

"We found it difficult to describe this as an Hotel. The Cafe only opens on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday and closes at 5pm. There is no Bar and no restaurant. The place needs a lot of TLC and maintenance. With regard to the accommodation we were allocated room 5 on the ground floor which is quite dark due to the proximity to the window of a vertical bank and wall above . As we intended spending most of the time out and about this was not a big issue. The main problem was evident the following morning...

"Very friendly and efficient checkin. Spacious clean room with very comfortable bed. No AC but fan provided in room due to warm weather. Very good cooked breakfast made to order, Excellent dinner in fine dining restraurant."

"Staff 100%. Great for pets"

"Poor shower design flooded bathroom On our first breakfast, buffet service disorganized. Yoghurt bowl empty, no fruit, ran out of cups, no marmalade etc The staff run off their feet but taking the flack from residents politely."

"The property was well situated for the town and other amenities, but we had a Seaview and was very noisy, but staff accommodated us and we changed the room."

"I basically look for 4 things. A decent bed to sleep on, washing facilities in the room, a TV to sometimes watch, and a quality breakfast in the morning. I couldn't fault anything, it was all excellent. Plus they have other activities, swimming pool, games room, snooker room and lots more. Staff were absolutely brilliant and helped me anytime I asked a question. It was my first time on the island for over 50 years. There's a bar for drinking with an area also for live music, all together. It...

"Liked everything with one exception. We had booked a superior double room. Upon arrival we were told we were being upgraded. The room was dominated by a super king size bed. There were 4 large lamps and 2 overhead bedside lamps. However no chair and no fridge. I enquired and unfortunately they did not have a spare fridge. I expected a chair and fridge in a superior room."

"I was worried by the negative reviews of this hotel before arriving but circumstances dictated that we would stay here. In fact, the place was actually better than expected - not great but acceptable provided you only need the basics. Yes, the property is tired and in need of a face-lift; the carpets are well-worn, the beds are old, the bar/entertainment area hasn't been used in a long time and the bathroom was very basic. Your room isn't serviced during your stay other than to empty the bin...

"The property is quite outdated but the staff were helpful and it was adequate for our one night stay."

"We loved our stay at The Fig Tree. The room was very clean, updated and comfortable. It’s a great location and we really enjoyed the free breakfast. Often times a free breakfast is a buffet where food is sitting out, but we loved being able to order from a menu and it was delicious as well. I would definitely stay here again."

"Room was basic, comfortable and clean, beds were good, had nice sea view. Would stay there again."

"Great location, clean surroundings, friendly staff, good facilities/activities."

"It was filthy linen was dirty all over the hotel but really loved isle of white"

" A lovely stay at this property, room was lovely with a great sea view. Food was very good, breakfast was excellent. "

"Very spacious and clean single room. Equipped with fridge and a fan which were both very welcome on the extremely warm conditions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is undergoing full refurbishment by dedicated owners. Extremely good value for money also."

"Great two night stay in August. Property was clean and hosts were very welcoming. Swimming pool and sauna on site were perfect. Would recommend."
