Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town

"A hotel front desk trainee helped me save my day, and totally changed my preconception of Romania. I arrived at the hotel by taxi. My first thought was th metered rate was very expensive comparing to hotel shuttle. I told the driver that I had to get more cash from the ATM in the hotel and asked him to come in with me. But he said he would wait in his taxi. Got my cash...went to the front desk to leave my baggage and told this lady trainee that I would be back after I paid the taxi driver. She asked how much the driver was asking..she that "that's way too much" and went outside with me to talk to the driver. In short, I ended up paying a fair market rate and a lot less. This lady trainee did all this on her own, and turned what could have been a sour first experience of Romania from bad to good. Guess it was my lucky day, and the taxi driver not so lucky day. Overall, I enjoyed staying at the Hilton and would recommend it to my friends."

"Great location near OTP and located within a reasonable driving distance to the castles and other touristy places. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There were a few occasions where the air conditioning seemed to have a little trouble keeping the room at the set temp and there was only one outlet that was across the room from the bed. The restaurants were wonderful too! We didn’t use the pool or spa, but only because we were too busy sightseeing, they looked like they would be awesome. We will definitely stay again if our travels bring us back to Romania!"

"I loved this hotel. It was a great price for such a lovely hotel with great staff. The breakfast was excellent. The room was very nice and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were clean and a relaxing area with beautiful views. Anytime I come to Bucharest I will stay here."

"Perfect for a stay on a budget. Excellent ly positioned for transport being next to the metro and five minutes from the main Bucharest railway station for airport trains. Although some of the furniture is basic, it serves it's purpose well. The staff are always helpful and cheerful."

"I last stayed at Caro at the beginning of June 2026. This is a large hotel, with multiple buildings. There are a few restaurants on site, I'm not sure how many but definitely more than two. There is paid parking on site. Breakfast is available, you can pay for it when you book, or you can just pay when you have it. The room I had now is among the better rooms in the hotel. It's not a real suite, but it's a very large room with two visually distinct sections, one for sleeping and the other like a living room. It had a large balcony towards in interior courtyard. I stayed before in a much smaller room, in a new section built quite recently. That room itself was not bad, but getting to it was plain weird, whoever designed that new section didn't know what they're doing. There were short flights of stairs without ramps, the entrance to the room was down a couple of steps. Just be aware. Staff is OK, most are nice and courteous, but I met a couple who borderline arrogant... The location is good, on the Tei lake, in a more upscale area of the city. It's a long walk to downtown, but not impossible. All in all this is a good place to stay, just don't expect perfect."
