"Nice very large Western/Japanese room with excellent front desk staff. Took just a few minutes to checkin. The front desk was very helpful and volunteered to bring our luggage to our room when the bell boy wasn't available. The open air onsen in the room was artistically done and was enjoyed at least 3 times a day. The reason the rating was taken down because of the restaurant manager. One person from our party of 4 couldn't come for breakfast and I took a plate of fresh fruits for her to her...

"To be candid, this hotel was not our first choice for our 3-day stay in Takayama. However, the other hotel didn't have availability for us and the Tokyu Stay did. That really turned out to be fortuitous. As first time travelers in Japan, when we got off the train in Takayama, we were overjoyed by the proximity of the hotel; a short 2-minute walk. "Good onsen facilities. Well maintained place, good value for money."

"Lovely hotel, beautiful view, nearby sightseeing, wonderful breakfast."

"The location is great. The breakfast buffet is good and the rooms are decently sized. I think a few more laundry machines wouldn't hurt."
