"Stunning communal spaces, stairs and bar. That staff are very courteous and helpful. You can even rent an umbrella. There is parking and it’s at the reduced rate of £22 if you pay at reception (£40 outside) Our room was a superior king but faced the station. BE AWARE that rear facing rooms get to hear the trains idle at the station for 15-30 mins at a time despite double glazing. A tip would be to master the air con before bedtime as it’s tricky to use (until you know how) and the rooms...

"We stayed at this property in May 2026. While the staff were extremely kind and helpful, the air conditioner in our room was not working and they refused to change our room since they were all booked and declined a refund/compensation too. When you pay £137 a night the least you expect is for the air conditioner to work especially when it’s been a hot day and you’re on the top floor of the hotel. Pretty poor for a ‘Marriott’ hotel. Avoid at all costs."

"Great stay at the hilton"

"Unfortunately in our room the ventilation was not working and had a error come up if you tried to restart the air conditioning. We did not really need air conditioning for cooling that much but just flowing air would have been much nicer as the room but a bit muggy and musky because lack of air flow. Windows did open a bit we found so that did help. Room was well fitted out but some things did not work, usb ports along side bed, fan in bathroom. Not a deal breaker but could have been better for...

"The bathroom needs cleaning properly! The sink had a residue in it ( I wiped it down with a small towel and the only cleaning product to hand….shower gel! ). There is some black mould starting on the tiles and water damage at the bottom of the door frame in side the bathroom. The room was very hot even with the window open jar. It would be really uncomfortable in the summer. We were near a door and it’s really noisy! I was annoyed at being charged £36 for car parking having not been told this...

"On arrival the staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable and there was a good selection of food for breakfast. We have stayed at this hotel over many years and we have always enjoyed the experience."

"Good location 15 mins walk to centre along the river. Clean rooms and adaquite kitchen. Free morning pastries was a basket full of plain croissants not alot of choise there. Coffee machine was broke but hot water and coffee available in its place. We just made one in our room. Lovely veiw over the river."
