"Good location, staff not overly helpful, mostly young kids not trained in customer service! Rooms clean but bit drab and all but dull / dark. Breakfast okay but again service / quality all a bit lacking. Overall expensive for what it is."

"I stayed in a ‘cosy’ room and liked it. Although small there was room to hang clothes and the layout worked. The problem I experienced was with the bathroom. Again small and well laid out but there was a smell of drains. I reported it as I left. Room 5"

"My room was in an annexe with no window, there was a skylight in the corner but the only way to open it and open and close the blind was to stand on a rickety chair. In the bathroom the grabrail by the bath was hanging off the wall so I would be very worried about grabbing it while getting in or out of the bath. "We had a lovely weekend stay at this hotel, which is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre and close to York’s many attractions. Our air conditioned room was very clean, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, dressing table, hairdryer, iron, tv and plenty of power sockets.
