"Firstly I booked through expedia who I thought would be competitive, however I paid £70 more than apparently booking direct as got an invoice pushed through my door on the morning of checkout - they said the I paid £70 more because I booked through expedia and that was their commission. The hotel was perfect location, but very dated and old fashioned. The bar was expensive and the spa area was massively overpriced for what it was"

"The location of the hotel is suburb. The hotel is lovely but does need an update, ie. a lick of paint etc. The room was nice and clean, the bar area and restaurant were lovely, breakfast was nice and fresh and the views from the terrace were amazing. Overall we had a wonderful 3 day break! Would definitely come back!!"

"We did enjoy our stay at Harbour Heights, although parts of the hotel feel a little tired and in need of some updating. Unfortunately, some members of staff could also benefit from further customer service training, as at times we felt more like an inconvenience than valued guests. The terrace and the view are absolutely stunning and were definitely the highlight of our stay. However, it was disappointing that guests were not allowed to have meals on the terrace, and there was no waiter service...

"We booked two rooms while walking the coast path. Neither room had a working shower. Both produced boiling hot water that would burn.All we were offered was the use of another shower in an outside building. We declined. Tired building and the Manager uninterested in offering any support or refund. He just told us the rooms were due to be updated! My advice..Go somewhere else. "

"House keeping was good. Room was small and pretty tired. Bath hand basin sink plug broken and toilet seat would not stay up. Staff polite but not very customer focused. Just did their job! Breakfast was disappointing. Advertised as ‘continental’ but fell short of what we were expecting. Parking good. Plenty of space"

"Lovely clean and tidy hotel. The rooms look refurbished and were spotless. We had the family room which was bigger than we were expecting. Two separate bedrooms and a bathroom. The staff were pleasant. Parking plentiful. Breakfast (eggs, hash browns, beans, sausages, bacon etc.) was included. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants/shops. Perfect for our stay."

"A fabulous pub / hotel! The staff were super friendly but very professional. The room we had was exceptional - a family room with double bed and 2 bunk beds (one of which housed our adult daughter without any problem). The new interior decorations were gorgeous - Pooky lights, artwork on the walls and corridors etc. Breakfast was magnificent (full vegetarian) and the bar in the evening was great with good choice of drinks and background music at the right level. "Pleasant stay. Rooms look a bit dated, no plug sockets next to bed. Room wasn't hoovered before arrival. Plumbing need looking into (slow drainage and toilet flush not great) Staff were helpful. Breakfast was buffet, so unable to choose from normal breakfast menu."

"Reviews 2026 The Manor House Hotel exceeded our expectations despite the age of the house. We like the shower with good water pressure and the use of the lift. Breakfast was a treat everyday. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We booked this place because we didn’t have a car & we were relying on the train & buses to get around. Would highly recommend!"
