"We were not aware of the daily “service charges” for this property. It’s a lovely property but be aware that the price you book is not the price you pay . Our stay cost us $550 more than expected because of service charges . Additionally you have to pay for palapas on the beach . Another $100 a day which is ridiculous after spending so much to stay there."

"We had a great time here , our room was always clean , the amenities were clean and relaxed also the have a private beach which is perfect because is not packed and there’s always chairs to enjoy the beach . "

"It's an old mansion, it feels like you stay in a museum, basically living in a 19th century Spanish court yard. It's amazing! As for a hotel, amenities are old, blankets are not the cleanest, but the AC is excellent. Location is great, right at center of everything that the history and culture offer at Santo Domingo, the oldest city in las americas. This experience is not something you can ever find in a modern hotel. Living here for just one night makes me fall in love with the history of the city and country."

"Great place to stay and a lovely property. Not easy to make or get reservations at the restaurants, that was aggravation we didn't want or need on our vacation. Be careful with the band they put on your wrist because my husbands came off when snorkeling and they were strict with the $200 dollar replacement band cost, which was not something we planned on or happy about. I had pictures before and after snorkeling of wrist but they wouldn't budge. All staff in the restaurants and bars were fabulous! The guards on the beach were very hard working and great pulling chairs down for all the guests."
