2/10 Terrible

"I had booked a weekend for my parents in one of the superior rooms in the main house. When they checked in they were informed of where to park outside the main house. As we drove round there were a variety of barriers preventing us from parking, we were then informed that we would not be allowed to park as there was a wedding happening the following day. We were informed to park a distance from the main house and my parents to walk further (disabled parking was unavailable). My father, who struggles to walk and is 82 was left expected to walk much further than he was cable of. The folllowing evening when I dropped them back at the hotel only to find out that they were directly over the wedding evening, and could not sleep because of the noise. They were moved rooms but this added to a later than they were usual too late night. At no point were we informed that there was a wedding event, They were due to leave the following day at 0630 to travel back to Ellesmere Port to miss traffic. My father after this ordeal slept the rest of the afternoon (which is unlike him). I feel the whole experience has been completely ruined and the communication and sympathy and understanding very lacking. At this stage, I would not recommend. We expect a call to discuss from the venue and hope their reaction will amend our extreme disappointment."

"We just used the hotel to sleep. Pretty well located for our needs (the rugby). Clean, tidy, well maintained. Buffet style breakfast ok. It did its job."

"The staff were brilliant, they were friendly and really helpful with our room request. The room was very clean, amd the aircon was a godsend at a time of a May heatwave! The restaurant area was clean, well staffed and the hot food on the dinner menu was very good. Would stay again and would recommend"

"Food was excellent. The pool was smaller than expected & understaffed. The rooms were good for the deal we got but very hot as no air conditioning. Staff were excellent & really looked after us, great with our children. Would definitely go back."

"All the staff we came across were fantastic. They were helpful, friendly and would chat to us happily about the area and their personal experiences of Silverstone race days. Lovely breakfast in the morning with a wide range of options and good quality fresh ingredients. Overall a lovely hotel with fabulous staff. We had a double room overlooking the track, we would definitely stay again."

"A beautiful building just near Banbury Cross with a large carpark. It was only a short walk to the old town and through the shopping centre to the canal We enjoyed a modern well appointed large room with sofa and Smart TV in the main building. It was unfortunate that because we were in a corner there wasn't a view of the beautiful gardens. The dining room was contemporary and did have that view. The menu had something for everyone and the food was delicious and incredibly well priced. Portions were large and service great. A good buffet breakfast was available for a small extra on booking. Overall an excellent value overnight stay."

"The bedroom was furnished to a very high standard as was the interior of this beautiful historic building. The staff were friendly and the garden is beautiful. It was a very nice English experience in a pretty part of the world."
