"We had a wonderful stay at Hitgeheim Country Lodge. The road in is a little rough, but as it is an eco reserve, that is to be expected and part of the experience. The reward is the wildlife along the way, and we were lucky enough to encounter some zebras. We chose a room with a private pool, which was absolutely beautiful and made our stay feel extra special. " I sent a email and left a voicemail message confirming late arrival to no avail. We did eventually get in by calling the emergency number. The room was OK, very noisy because of the Iron Man commentator on a microphone over all of Summerstrand but expect that’s a one-off. Breakfast was confused and non-communicative. "This is a great base within a secure compound. What let it down was inconsistency - I was asked why I didn’t leave the key when I went out for the day (it was needed to get back into the compound) No towels had been placed in the room so had to be requested - power plugs to t.v. Did not fit the power sockets so an adapter needed to be brought - T.v. Service card needed to be topped up before being able to access channels. room was serviced after 1st night but not 2nd. No water supply on...
