"The hotel is a jewel in the heart of historic Castel Gandolfo. Our Superiore room was spacious, well equipped, and had a long balcony with a breath taking view of Lake Albano. The included breakfasts in the Bucci restaurant were wonderful. Equally delightful was the cheerful and helpful staff, especially the manager, Daniel. On our arrival on a rainy evening after a long flight from the US, we were disappointed that a local restaurant where we had a reservation was closed. Daniel walked us to another restaurant which he recommended for a delightful meal. Throughout our stay, he conversed with us about the history and culture of the area. We highly recommend Hotel Castelgandolfo."

"The photos definitely make it look like a 5 star hotel. I would give it a 2.5-3 at best. Make sure to not book if you can’t get the lake view. That’s the best thing about the hotel. No amenities. The pictures make the place look 10x better than it is. Underwhelming in person"

"Good people are the best asset in any place, and Cape House is blessed with amazing people. The cleaning staff are friendly and maintain the highest standard of cleanliness. And Fabio takes great care to ensure that guests are comfortable and well looked after. He found me a quiet place to work away from the noise of some renovations that were in progress a couple of days, and kindly gifted a bottle of wine to compensate for any inconvenience that the work may have caused. The place itself is also lovely. Located close to a couple of lakes and the pope’s summer residence. Also a short drive or train ride into Rome. Yet far enough out of the city to hear birds rather than constant traffic. And very quiet during the night. The kitchen is well equipped for the simple meals one makes when away from home. And the mattress and furniture are comfortable. I enjoyed a week at Cape House and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone travelling in the area."

"I stayed here for a month. It was perfect. The bed was comfortable and I had everything I needed. It was very private and quiet and the terrace was lovely- sunset views every night. Everything was clean and the location is very convenient to the center of the town. I was very comfortable here. "

"We had an amazing stay at the house. Its a great, very relaxing location in the foot hills, with a cute town close by and other activities. The town is not really walkable given the roads. We enjoyed the house, cooked on the outdoor grill twice (was a great experience), and used the pool daily. "

"Great room in a large house. Nice little kitchen, bathroom with washing machine. Leonardo is a nice friendly lady, very helpful. 20-30 minutes walk to castle Gandolfo and another to the lake public beach is small, but plenty of lido's. The view from the balcony at the house is to die for."
