One night stay, bedrooms very comfortable and I would highly recommend booking a table for a meal, good choice with great service and very enjoyable meal.
We really enjoyed our stay at the New Inn. Our room was wonderful, it was large, comfy, and had a spa-like bathroom. The food at the inn was excellent, we enjoyed everything we ordered and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
I just stayed one night en route to Scotland. It is one of the nicest places I have stayed. The staff were very kind and welcoming, the room was cosy and comfortable with a delightful view.
Really lovely overnight stay and dinner to break up a long journey. Very pleased to have stumbled across this gem of a place - very comfortable, clean and charming. Couldn’t have been better, highly recommend. We will be recommending to friends and will be back!
Booked the Superior bedroom - beautiful room and bathroom, even had the radio on playing Christmas carols when we were shown in which was a nice little touch. Very warm and cosy room. Underfloor heating in the bathroom. Nice continental breakfast. Good selection of teas and coffees in the room and even fresh milk. Lovely location too and not far off the M6.
Absolutely wonderful 1 night stay . Tucked away from the main road into the lakes . Friendly welcome when I arrived and then super helpful and chatty all through my stay .
The room was their smaller comfy double but there was plenty of space even if there had been two of us. Lovely touches like both kettle and supplies and a coffee maker and choccy biscuits to go with it , plus a small fridge with water and proper milk inside. Clean and well presented through out. The bathroom was very modern , nice waterfall shower within a large double shower cubicle . The room was warm all the time - obviously well insulated and the radiator heated up instantly ! I only had the radiator on for 10 minutes and the room was very warm indeed - I had to turn it off again ! Breakfast was a continental breakfast - lots of choice and again friendly service . I had dinner in the evening and the food was good amd tasty . I am definitely going to return . Ultimately as a lone female traveller I wanted to feel safe and I really did .
We had room 7 and it was excellent.Clean comfortable huge bed tastefully decorated to high standard very very nice.Pub was also fantastic with high quality meals .Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We are already planning to return again.we think we've found a little gem.
Fantastic Room, and Nick was very helpful and accomodating despite the lack of kitchen due to COVID Staffing issues. The only thing that would have made it better would have been transport to the Sister hotel (longlands) to make up for the lack of kitchen for evening meal. There is a shortage of taxi's in the local area, being quite remote. Wouldn't hesitate to come back again when back to business as usual.
Beautifully re-furbished premises. Quality throughout.
The only real criticism relates to light pollution. When we switched off the lights in our room, we became aware of the intrusive warning/standby lights.
There was a large bright glowing green fire exit sign above the bedroom door; the smoke detector, directly above the bed was giving out bright red flashes; the tv stand-by button glowed red and the radio clock shone bright green.
The New Inn fulfilled all our expectations. Friendly welcome and explanation of where we could eat and local walks. Exceptionally clean, comfortable room. Shower was fab. Would recommend and would definitely stay there again if we were in the area. Thank you for a super lovely stay.
We loved staying here. It is beautifully decorated with all the rooms recently refurbished to a very high standard. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and it was good value for money. We used it as a base to visit the lakes, Windermere was just 25 minutes up the road. We will definitely be returning to this hotel. It's unfortunate that due to the pandemic, causing staffing issues, the restaurant wasn't open however we had an excellent meal at their sister hotel, Longlands, just a few miles away and we brought a takeaway back to eat in the hotel restaurant.

We had to travel to another hotel to get an evening meal at £8 each way. This spoiled the “relaxing “ break.
