Big panoramic house in the Lucca hills. Pool, garden, WiFi, Aircon

8/10 Good

"First off, this property was in an ideal location for us, as my wife was born in Tuscany, about 10-15 minutes from her hometown. It was centrally located to Pisa, Lucca, Florence and not too far from the Cinque Terrae. The property itself was nice but the house left a little to be desired. The bedrooms were on the second and third floors, as were the bathrooms, so if you needed to use the bathroom, you had to walk up to your appropriate level. The kitchen was very small and could have been stocked better with utensils, etc. Also, the chairs there were not the most comfortable. The living room was even smaller and the TV was the size of a computer monitor. Would I rent here again? Maybe but I would first look at other places."

10/10 Excellent

"Absolutely beautiful restored property only 30 minutes from Florence airport but up in the picturesque hills. Beautiful views of the countryside. After the organisational disaster that is car rental at Florence airport, it was such a relief. The rooms were beautiful with multiple opening windows and variable shutters to let in the liight. Mario was very helpful and friendly and the continental breakfast was very tasty. There is a beautiful restaurant called 'Le Piastre' just down the hill about 10 minutes. It is easy to miss because the front looks like an office building entrance but it opens out into a beautifully decorated restaurant with a large veranda at the rear. The food was excellent and the service good. If you want to stay away from the tourist filled city but in the beautiful countryside reasonably close to the airport this is for you."

Casa Serena in Petrognano with Private Terrace, Garden, and Wi-Fi

10/10 Excellent

Villa Aperitivo, Romantic and Panoramic Stone Farmhouse with Private Swimming Pool on the Hills of Lucca close to Lucca, Pisa and the Compitese area

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful week with friends at the villa. It really is beautifully decorated inside and has lovely soft furnishings throughout the villa. The kitchen is very well equipped and it's all very spacious so perfect for the 8 people we were. The real attraction of the villa for us was the pool and outdoor space and the pool certainly got a lot of use! It was perfectly maintained with someone coming to check the chlorine levels and top it up so it was always in perfect condition. There was a large table for 8 people outside and several loungers and a day bed. We always managed to move things round to get some shade as the sun moved as it was really hot during our visit.A hire car is a must and there are lots of little villages to explore. The nearest supermarket is just 3 minutes away by car and there are good restaurants less than 10 minutes drive from the villa. The local bus remained a mystery with only 2 or 3 busses a day apparently and no busses after 8pm according to a taxi driver we met so I wouldn't rely on using the bus.The check in process could not have been easier with Filippo coming to meet us and explain everything. He was in regular contact and could answer all our questions. It was a lovely week for us all and we'd love to go back!"
