"Great à la carte breakfast"

"The room was very spacious and well appointed. We didn't pay for a sea view but were kindly given one. The breakfast was very tasty and well presented. There was a good choice on the menu in the bar but we didn't have dinner in the pub. Other guests said the Sunday lunch was of good quality. The negatives were that the shower was very old and poorly maintained. The water dribbled out of the shower. Hence as we were only staying for 2nights we had no shower, although my husband had a part wash on the first night. We couldn't have a bath as there was no plug. The walls were also not soundproofed between all rooms, so guests could hear noises and conversations of others All staff were friendly."

"Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff so friendly and loved the way the building has been kept sympathetic to its past. Coffee shop is great, as is the breakfast."

"Hotel generally ok, bit tired in places. I was missing a welcome pack so didn’t know the times for breakfast, reception rushed through it all quickly and said pack to read but no pack and no reception when went back. Missing normal coffee in room only decaf. Breakfast a bit average. Fruit pretty poor processed fruit. Other stuff ok. Staff welcoming though room clean but a bit tired and bed board broken. "

"When I came into the hotel and was given my room key, the first thing I noticed was the smell of dampness in the room. The carpet had burned marks all over it and stains and in places was missing carpet and built bar floor. The wallpaper was torn off the walls. The room was filthy dirty had not been cleaned and full of dust and dirt smoked disgusting so did the toilet and shower. There was sick and vomit on the side of the wall dried in there are multiple stains on the roof on the walls of the hotel room and over the bed. The mattress was completely filthy. Looked about 20 years old. I would not let a dog sleep in the room or even a cat the heating was switched off and did not work because of the pipework had been leaking. They were visible. Water stains all over the floor. All of the paint was peeling off the walls and ceilings and there was black mould on the windows of the hotel room. I went straight back to the hotel front desk and said the room is nothing like the ones in your photographs and I was told the hotel had not been redone for a long time and they know there is issues with the hotel and they’re trying to upgrade some of the rims when they can afford to do it however this is just the way their rooms are right now I asked and demanded to be moved to a different room. I was then shown another room which was even worse there is no elevator in the hotel room a lot of stairs and the hotel room smells of cigarettes and dogs and there was rubbish all through the hallwa"

"The staff were top notch, the room was clean but the carpets were very stained. All things being equal we were out late and left early. And slept well. Don’t run low on fuel there, the gas station close to it is 30 cents more a gallon than driving 2 miles towards the closest town. "
