"Beautiful accommodation. Friendly staff. Great price including a wonderful breakfast."

"The hotel had a 'run down' feeling and we were disappointed that there was no breakfast on offer."

"Cute hotel, good location, modern, and nice to have the tavern attached for a drink and breakfast, but the double room was very small and with no closet, drawers or anywhere to put suitcases we had little floor space left. Too cramped for a couple but probably great for one person. Also it's loud if you have a room facing the square. I would stay again, but in a larger room at the back of the hotel."

"We have stayed here before and thought it was good. This time we were in the Coach House instead of the older building. It tried to be characterful but wasn't. It was probably built in the 80s and what little work that had been done on it since was not done well. It was tired and shabby. "Quiet with parking. The restaurant was exactly what we were looking for. The room was ok. We almost locked ourselves in because the door handle fell off."

"Have stayed a number of times when visiting the area. Would highly recommend it"

"The room and hotel worked for what it was offering! I enjoyed my stay and the staff were very friendly and helpful, but the door to the room I was staying in wasn’t working properly so I did run into some minor issues there. Other than that, it was very smooth sailing! Would recommend!"

"Hotel is central. Bed is small for two and you hear noise for the other rooms."

"Beautiful hotel and staff"

"Easy stay. Staff were super helpful and breakfast was great. Perfect were one night stay. York is fantastic!"

"Room was clean and comfortable but starting to show signs of needing attention (worn through couch covers, split pillow case) the TV didnt want to turn on and there has been a downgrade in the bathroom amenities from the baylis & harding i loved. Parking was plentiful"

"We only stayed at Ashbourne House for one night and it was very nice. Lovely room with a Comfortable bed, great shower and towels. Plenty if tea and coffee, and if you ran out you could get more from a dish on the landing also a sweet treat if you needed it, which I thought was a nice touch. It was a bit away from restaurants and the main shopping but public buses stopped just down the road and was easy to catch and came regularly if you didn’t have a car. If you did have a car there seemed...
